Seeing Gintarou get hit Druquilla follows Kraven's lead and draws her own bow knocking an arrow but does not loose it after hearing Gintarou call for everyone to hold.
"You really think we should trust someone who just attacks us with out cause?" Druquilla questions keeping her arrow ready to fly. "You best hope they are not crafty enough to poison coat those."
The man who was running fell, he stands up as you are all talking to him, with each word his face slowly turns from anger to accepting. He slowly walks to you all.
"My name is Vahlisto, and this Island is my home, has been for years. Generally only, other than the Drow tribe, who are on the other side of the Island I have not seen any other inteligent life until The Black Rift came and started to distroy the Island, you understand why I would attack."
(OOG I don't know whats wrong with my imgur but it does not like me right now and is not loading well.)
"Oi, that's a nice horseshoe crab shell you got there. We just ate a couple back on the beach," Mist jerks his thumb back the way they came. "This place is lousy with them! Speaking of...who in their right mind would live here all by their lonesome?!"
Suddenly a thought dawns on Mist. "Hey! You wouldn't have seen some hunk of rock that doesn't match the rest around here, have you?"
"I don't even remember how long ago it was not, lots of years, more than..." he pauses and looks around the group, "More years than any of you probably have under your belts." He twitches, something that some of you may have noticed, but probably not, but this time the twitch was very large, and you get a sight of his ears, not as pointy as an elf's but not as round as a human's. "I was on a ship, we were hit by a storm, the gods chose to save me and bring me here.” And at that he stares off as if there is something he is watching behind the party.
Kraven will stay on his rock but will lower the bow for now, though he will keep an arrow knocked just in case. While up on the rock he will use the vantage point of his to take a look around.
"No worries. The poison of this level can't even make my shoulder stiff! As Mist-dono said, I have eaten so many poisoned arrows that I already got used to them" Gintarou mends his injury as he speaks. He changes back to common language so that others can understand. "You have had hard times,Vahlisto-dono. But it seems the gods finally heard your prayers. We can take you to our town. But before that… if you can help our quest on this island that will be most appreciated."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Its as the big guy says," Druquilla adds. "You want off this island, we have a ship that could always use another pair of hands, and will gladly take you but first we need to find a piece of a fallen star somewhere within the volcano. We could use your help to find it then we could take you where ever you want to go."
Seeing Vahlisto's gaze going to behind the party Druquilla cautiously glances over her shoulder while keeping her bow at the ready arrow still knocked.
Vahlisto soaks in everything that is said. (Just so you all know I was waiting on the History check that only Gintarou could make)
"If this star is what the Black Rift are after than help you find it I will. I do not wish to leave here any more, this is a place that I will die, I have learned that this place is where I must... Reflect on my actions. Now about a month back something fell from the sky, and hit into the center of the Volcano. I know a safe pathway in, its only an hour from my home, which is about an hour from here." his twitching is low except when he is talking about not leaving the island. (And no I am not THAT bad of a writer that his speach is so crazy but that he is a little off in the head.)
"Best news we've had all day! Lead the way, then! And if we happen across any more of these Black Rift wankers, we'll take care of them for you. They've caused us no small amount of trouble lately as well."
"I really appreciate your help. Your information is really useful. Is there any way we can return your favor? I mean, although this place is beautiful and crab meat tastes heavenly, there might be some inconvenience that we can help with. Like some equipment or food" Gintarou hands Vahlisto the shuriken which was stuck on his body. "Also can you tell me where you come from? I think I have heard your accent before but I can't remember what it is."
So what hit you was not metal, it's like a spine that a creature would have shoot out. And at that you do notice the shell on his back, the tail of it is swinging independently, nothing that resembles a connection to Vahlisto's movements or actions.
"The Island provides for me, as long as the Black Rift leave then I will be fine. I will show you."
His twitching continues as you all walk. From time to time he stops in slightly and sheets his sword, after looking around and being in an aggressive stance he puts his sword away then continues.
"I spent my childhood moving around, and it didn't stop when I became an adult. Being in one place for so long was stranger to me than being alone on the island at first."
You follow up the side of the volcano for a bit then you come to a cave opening, the walk in is wide enough for only one person at a time, but less than a minute into walking it opens up to a huge room. You see a fire pit and large wood collection. There are some odd looking biolescent plants hanging from the ceiling. A sand and rock garden in one corner. In another corner is a section that is marked off by rocks. Next to it is what can only be called a wooden statue the arms seem to be able to move and the hands hold things. Lastly by the wooden statue is a rack of sticks of different lengths, all carved and straight. In the last corner is a small pool of water, if you look in to it, it is clear, but you see no bottom.
Gintarou examines the sand and rock garden with great interest."I saw the same rock garden in my former lord's mansion. I'm an uneducated peasant. I have no idea what it means. But it looks beautiful.Did you make this garden by yourself?" And he stops walking in front of the wooden statue. "And this…this is amazing. It's a shame that my vocabulary isn't good enough to describe it. Who are they?"
"The garden is a technique I learned from a former warlord, he used it as a way to help… Forget about the sins of his past. I built it to use it the same way."
At the sparing dummy "I do not name things, this is not a person." Vahlisto walks to the rack of sticks, it looks like a weapon rack, he grabs two of the sticks and plus one in the hand of the dummy, he gets into a stance and his the dummy's "weapon" and the dummy starts to spin. Vahlisto swings his sick and blocks the dummy's weapon, it spins again, it seems random, Vahlisto blocks and redirects the dummy for about a minute or so before the dummy fully opens up and Vahlisto strikes the dummy in the head at which point it locks up.
"Neat trick you got there, boyo. Seems to me it would've held still just as well if you hadn't hit it in the first place but everyone's got a thing. Maybe beating up tree stumps is yours..." Mist trails off as he looks off around the rest of the cave, talking all the while.
"So you live here, then? Not too shabby, I guess. So what's with that overgrown cape of yours? I've seen wild folks wear pelts of huge cats and wolves and bears and the like, but I've not seen anyone wearing a giant bug as such. You know, it's a little-known fact there, Normie, but horseshoe crabs aren't actually crabs. Nosiree...they've got more in common with your average house spider than any crustacean you or I may be familiar with."
His eyes finally come back to meet Vahlisto's as he puts his hands on his hips and cocks an eyebrow.
"So about that star ya seen fall somewheres in these whereabouts..."
"Spider or crab either way it is incredibly well trained," Druquilla comments walking around Vahlisto after his demonstration. "I have an uncle that bonded with a shark that he now has join him when he goes deep sea fishing. Last I heard he was teaching my cousin how to do the same. I have not seen someone carry a creature like this and have it attack like you did. Having an extra set of eyes watching your back on an island like this must make things easier."
"May I?" Druquilla inquires reaching out a hand to touch the large horseshoe crab. "Are there more like this one on the island? Is it something that can be trained easily or does it take time to have it rest on you like that?"

I did forget that Gintarou does need to make a con save DC10 or be poisoned.
I am going to make the check for the group, at advantage using Mist's Persuasion 25
