"Well, boyos, I've no clue what triggered it but seems this big ol' crystal here is very much the cause of something that was previously not ash becoming those piles of said ash what lay before us. Doesn't seem dangerous for the moment but I've no intent to stand by waiting for it to do the same to myself. I'm entirely too dashing to be disintegrated!"

Looking around the group, "Anyone fancy taking a whack at it? Dunno if it can be otherwise disarmed. Beyond that, we could just hightail it passed and hope for the best on our way out!"

Kraven looks at the crystal in frustration and then ruffles his feathers and moves on to the closed door checking to see if it is locked or trapped.

The doors to the next room is a set of heavy stone doors.  They are carved with an intricate sun and moon pattern, and are both partially ajar.

Kraven will silently try and peak into the room.

Zenix looked at the crystal, "Hmmm.." He tried to think of what it could be.

Intelligence: 16

Druquilla goes up to the crystal and taps it with her knuckle to test its hardness then turns to Gintarou, "Hey big man, think you can break off a piece of this?"

“Are you really sure this thing will not explode?" While giving a wry smile, the giant lifts up a rock that is twice the size of his own head. Gintarou twists his body to the limit then throws the huge rock toward the center crystal.

"Ye seem awful determined to tempt fate."  Zan tiptoes across the room as fast as possible,  careful to avoid touching anything.  "I'm of a mind to have steak pie and beer for supper, and I'll need both hands to enjoy it. "

Mist laughs gleefully as Gintarou attempts to smash the large crystal.

"I'll be buying my beer with shards of this here gem tonight, I don't mind telling you!"

Gintarou, I'll count this as an attack so you do 6 damage

The crystal starts to crack a little.

Kraven just peaking into the room, you don't see much, but it looks a little like an office, from Kraven's experience I would say you kind of think of a captian's chambers.

While they are playing with the crystal Aubric will again be ritual casting Detect Magic then slowly moving around the room to see if he gets any hits. 

You get a hit off the crystal, it is radiant, but it is faint, as if it is not currently active.

Kraven will look over his shoulder to see what the rest are doing and then slip into the office to see what there is to see. Moving over the desk to see what might be hidden there. He will try to see if there are any noticeable traps on the desk but otherwise he will just take a look around, being as silent as he can.

Giggling like an idiot, Mist seems caught up in the near-senseless destruction and desire for crystal shards. His eyes get wide as he points a finger at it and a crackling beam of force shoots out.

"That's a great idea. Maybe I should tie you with me like a Breastplate so that you can take more crystals When the big one explodes." You wouldn't cover much of my body though. Gintarou mutters to himself. He picks up another rock which is bigger than the last one. And throw it to the central crystal.

Mist, way to happy about what's going on, misses with his blast.

(Woof... A giant crystal is harder to hit than I expected! Have any pieces come off with Gintarou's battering?)

No it's just cracking, but the cracking has spiderwebed.
