"Dube! You nearly hit me!" Gintarou shouts and jumps back from the burst of eldritch energy that shatters the big crystal. "…Shit! That was scary. If you wanna kill me.Tell me so that I can react!" He picks up one of the crystal shades and gazes at it. "I don't know much about jewellery but this one looks pretty. Do you think it can sell at a good price?"
After inspecting the desk and any drawers Kraven would move over to the dead body and check it for anything valuable and then check the door for traps.
Grinning at Gintarou Mist retorts, "Now where's the fun in telling you I'm going to kill you? Do I look like one who enjoys being squished like a bug?? No, boyo, you're to stay on your toes if you're to travel with Mis'tuv!" He laughs and pats his bulging pockets. "There's a sucker born every minute. I'm sure we can find someone to buy these rare 'death crystals.'" Mist winks and turns to look over the office.
Is there's a way to tell how long this corpse has been here or if they look like someone who might've been a colleague of Stargazer's? I have no idea what kind of roll that might require so here:
"Not yet," Druquilla answers Kraven. "But I did just give the big guy some tools that could change that."
After hearing the barrage of blasts at the crystal Druquilla pokes her head back out of the room, "Never mind looks like they finally broke the crystal."
Druquilla leaves the room going back in to the room with the now shattered crystal and picks up a piece then returns to the room with the desks. Figuring Kraven had searched the main desk in the center of the room Druquilla will go over and investigate the corner desk by the door to the crystal room.
Based on the rolls made, the door does not look to be trapped. The dead body is of a halfling, he is wearing a dirty looking shirt under a leather jacket, a fedora, he has a satchel, and a bow whip. When you start to look through pockets you see the same MB that you saw on the crates, now stitched to his shirt on his pocket. He looks to be only dead a few weeks.
But as you are looking... a ghost, that of the likeness of Magnus’ dead body, the ghost rises to the top of the room and speaks, in a rough but yet soothing voice. “Hey what are you doing with my body. Did Cendrailsend you, that old loon, took him long enough.” He pauses “Well you're here now and that's all that matters kids. Look behind that door is what I am, well was, after, it's a compass of sorts, what all did good old Cendrail tell you about it?”
Kraven squawks in surprise at seeing the ghost and cocks his head to the left to stare at it. When he is satisfied it is not going to attack and start speaking he will continue to rifle through the body and put anything of interest into his pockets.
"…Thank you for the useful information. I'll keep that in mind especially when I walk in front of you." Gintarou squints his eyes and stares at Mist. Maybe he should use this crazy Halfling as a shield instead of armor. The only downside of this idea is that he can't use polearms when he holds a shield in his hand. But a shield which can shoot energy blast…well that sounds not bad.
Gintarou chooses the most highly transparent and nicely shaped crystal. Then he handed them to Druquilla with tools he rented from her. " …Hey here is your hammer and piton. They are well…useful. And…OH GOD that's a ghost!" The moment he sees the spirit, Gintarou runs toward the entrance and hides behind the wall. "It's a freaking ghost! Run! Cleric! Where is our cleric!"
Zan reaches up and pats Gintarou on the shoulder. "At ease, lad, 'tis but a ghost. Be glad this one ain't tryin' to tear your eyeballs out. At least, not yet." He bows to the ghost. "Heyo, Magnus, is it? Well, sorry for what befell ye lad. How exactly did ye die? Cendril told us the compass will lead to the fragments of a fallen star. Do ye know more?"
Seeing the ghost, Mist bursts out laughing. After a moment he regains control and wipes a tear from his eye.
"Always thought ghosts were supposed to be terrifying. You're just a goofy as I! Only difference is you float and are transparent whereas I'm properly moored to the floor as any self-respecting halfling and thoroughly inscrutable." He chuckles again.
Looking to Zandeyr and back to Magnus, Mist chimes in to the questioning. "Right. And while you're at it, mind telling us just how you and those poor sods we had to step over on the way in met your ends? Anything else we should be aware of on the danger spectrum?"
He leans in, puts a hand to one side of his mouth to whisper to the ghost, and points a thumb at Aubric. "Would you believe that one's a dwarf?! Not a whisker in sight! I still can't believe it..."
Magnus looks to Zan and answers "I died trying to unlock that door that your bird friend is working on. The others, well trap by trap I evidently did not get the best group of thieves together for this exploration. There was the statue that burnt my guard, the statues that shot up my thief, then the room before this we were following the path when I got out of there one of the klutz stepped off the path and well, I’m sure you saw what's left of them. Now did Cyndrial tell you the value of the compass or the fact that it belongs in a museum? I was hoping to sell it to one, and use the gold to fund my exhibition for Crimson Kate’s treasure hoard.”
Kraven chirps angrily at the door as he pulls out his thieves tool and proceeds to unlock it, "What do you mean you died while unlocking the door, I did not see any traps on it."

"What do you mean you died while unlocking the door, I did not see any traps on it." Kraven asks as he is halfway through unlocking the door.
Gintarou peek his head out of the entrance. He still looks nervous even after Zan tried to calm him down. "My sincere apology. I'm really bad at someone I can't fight with a sword. Ah… Mr.Magnus? You look awful fine for a … dead man. We heard nothing about the museum or Crimson Kate’s treasure hoard. Can you tell us what are they? Also do you know what is in the pool on the first floor?"
Magnus looks like he is giving a smile to Gintarou "You think you're not used to being around ghosts, imagine how it is to be me kid. Cyndrial and I don't see eye to eye on this one. I think important artifacts like this belong in a museum, which one doesn't matter to me. Now for Crimson Kate's treasure hoard, that's more of my thing, Cyndrial is about the stars, mine is artifacts, the big ones, Like Kate's Treasure."
Most of you have probably heard of Crimson Kate before, she was a notorious pirate captain from a few hundred years ago. She had a few large scores of note, and then one day she just up and disappeared.
“What’s in the pool? We were not sure what was in it, but the look we got it was not a welcoming one.”
Kraven kicks the door in frustration and turns to Gintarou, "I can't seem to unlock the door can you just yank it open?" Then will move away from the door to give him room.
The warrior frowns at Kraven's request. "…I usually say it's a piece of cake. But my gut tells me there's a murderous trap on that door." Gintarou turns to the ghost and asks him. "Magnus-dono. Do you know what kind of trap on that door? If you help us to reach the compass, we might be able to help you to rest in peace."
"I do not know what killed me. But my bet is the trap is dead, it went off when I broke my lock pick set on the door, so I would think that your bird friend their would have gotten hit all the same.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Thank you for your advice, ghost-dono. In that case let's see if I'm lucky today!" Gintarou grabs a desk and uses it as a battering ram to break the door.
I will speed this along, and say that after about a minute of battering, and breaking the two smaller desks that make a "L" shape that Gintarou breaks the door down.
