"… I can read.… I can read it!" With a shaking finger, Gintarou traces the letters and reads them. There are several technical jargons that he can't comprehend. A lot more that he has no idea how to pronounce. But overall, the giant warrior is able to summarize the journal and tell his friends. " So… the one behind all these mist demons and kidnaper golems is a romanticist cyclops who believes in the miracle of shooting stars. He is trying to bring back his dead lost love by… how can I say? … Gathering all fallen stars and making a living statue of her. Ah… also the couple had some cockatrice pets too. They are probably responsible for the petrified head we have seen. " Gintarou puts down the last scroll. He wipes his forehead which is soaked in sweat because of the unfamiliar brain work he has committed. " This note explains a lot, but doesn't explain why I can read it though. It was written in a language awfully similar to Daidan. A very old tongue that was only spoken by the elders of my village"
Kraven will enter the room after a few minutes of waiting to see if anything explodes and then will move over to the desk and take a look to see if anything of importance is in or on it. A burst of short low squawks muttering out of his beak about the foolishness of some people.
Druquilla shakes her head as she follows the others into the room keeping a safe distance like Kraven.
"At least we have learned the cause of the kidnappings," Druquilla remarks looking around the room. "But now we will have a cyclops and some cockatrice to deal with. When it rains it always pours it would seem."
"Kraven have you spotted anything?" She calls out before turning to Gintarou. "Best keep your eye on the compass, if the cyclops is carrying the fragment it could give us some warning."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
" Good point. " Gintarou nods and takes the compass. " According to the journal, the cyclops can shape the earth with magic. A tough opponent, especially when you face them on a high mountain. Do you guys have any idea how to deal with it? " Gintarou reread the journal and books to find more detailed information about the cockatrices.

"...Do you guys have any idea how to deal with it? "
Mist pulls his head back in.
"Eh... 'Suppose hittin' him hard enough should do it, yeh?"
From his naturally-low vantagepoint, Mist uses the downtime to look under the bed and check the floor for hatches or hidden compartments or anything of that sort. He's gonna hope there's still enough fuel in the tank for another bump from the Big Guy.
Mist: You see a large field of cloud. The ocean is no longer visible from the vantage point, fading to a hazy blue far below. Make a DC 10 Arcana check for me. When you try to give yourself some guidance it falls short again, you hear a laughter in your head. Under the bed you find nothing other than dust bunnies.
Gintarou: the compass is pointing out the hole in the wall. You don't really find anything new about them. I am also going to say no to you giving aid, someone else, who uses magic yes.
Aubric: you do fail, but like I said someone can give you some assistance.
Druquilla makes her way over to Aubric, "Are you sure you should be messing with that? if anything I think it would be better to destroy this rather than fix it."
As Aubric walks away from the could Golem Mist steps in and messes with the thing, after a little playing around the thing loses some of its cloud and then starts to move, and looks directly at Mist, and does not move.
Kraven moves over to Mist, "Found on desk, you might have a use." And hands over the scroll then moves back to the door to keep a look out but stops half way there when he sees the golem move. "What Mist do to make golem move? Everyone be on guard."
Mist slowly removes his gaze from the golem and looks at the scroll and frowns.
"Now what would get you to thinkin' I can read these squigglies? I mean... I know my magical and intellectual (not to mention physical) prowess is astounding so it's understandable you'd come to me with such things. But no, this might be more up our resident bookworm's alley. Oi, Babyface!"
The halfling tosses the scroll over his shoulder to Aubric and turns back to the cloud golem. He leans in, squinting and studying it intently. Reaching up to scratch his head, he jumps as the large construct mirrors his movement and scratches its own head. He leans from side to side and it continues moving with him. Finally he stamps his little foot and shouts, "Why must I always get stuck with the dumb strays?! I already have one pet I can't get rid of!""Hey!""Shut it!"
He lets out an exasperated sigh of resignation. "Well if I'm to be saddled with this lot I might as well make the best of it, eh?"
Mist turns his back to the golem, squats low, and jumps as high as he can as the construct catches and holds him. The little man squeals and giggles with delight and says, "No idea where we're goin' but I'll be travelin' in style from here on out!"
"Woah..." Mist says while silently telling the golem where to walk around the room. "Is this what it feels like to be huge, Bigm'n?? I can see why it's so desirable! ...to lesser beings, of course. I myself have never wished to be any bigger than I am. Just seems inconvenient, hittin' one's head on things and needin' to turn sideways to get through doors and what have you."
"All the seas," Druquilla moans pinching the bridge of her nose. "Would you stop playing around with that thing Mist, we have enough to worry about already. We do not know when this cyclops will be back we need to stop playing around and get ready."

(It would be an Arcana check, which is the same)
the cloud golem is nearly finished, only lacking its arms. It appears possible to finish the job with the right tools. Make DC 15 Arcana check for me.

Mist walks across the room and sticks his head out the window to see what he can see.
(Is the bed giant-sized or giant kin-sized?)

Mist didn't even realize what he was doing... Just mindlessly messing with things as he looked around.
He cocks an eyebrow and stares back.
You can tell that it is waiting for directions from the golem.
