It would be worth going to the last house before trying to get out of this place. After all, these mantis creatures are still unnerving. Also something keeps clearing out the bodies. The three of them after killing the mantis had gone to check the upper rooms for a bit, leaving the corpse behind. When they got back, the corpse was gone. Too bad no one thought about taking any trophies from it. Instead though there were 10 of those strange coins. Komos had decided to hold on to said coins. That IS what happened right? Of course it was! Why would they misremember something that happened less than 10 minutes ago?
Wait... that's not what happened was it? That's exactly how Varn and Sniv remembers things happening. They killed the creature, went to investigate the upper rooms and then when they came back the corpse was gone and in its place was 10 of the strange warm coins. Komos took the coins to hold on. However, this isn't how Komos remembers it. Komos remembers how things ACTUALLY happened. They killed the creature, Varn and Sniv went to check the upper rooms. He stayed behind to cut the scythes and take them as trophies. However one question remains: Does he realize that how he remembers things happening is not the same way Varn and Sniv remember it?
(OOC: Wait... So do Sniv and Varn not see the scythes poking out of Komos's pack? Or do we just ignore that fact and assume that he got strange coins from the creature?)

((EDIT: Unless Komos wanted the Scythes to poke out. In which case, they would notice that the scythe's aren't there anymore. Komos will not notice this due to mind-**** magic. So with no visible scythe, Varn and Sniv would remember getting coins from the creature.))
At the mention of taking the head of what attacks them next, Komos is about to reply that he has a good prize from the last beast, but reaching into his bag finds only 10 warm coins instead. As they walk out, it seems clear that the others don’t even remember the mantis that they just battled. Komos was sure that he remembered fighting the thing… ‘it popped up just when I went to lay down.’ he thinks to himself. But with each of the others simply happy to continue on as if nothing happened, he begins to doubt his own sanity and memory of things, and simply follows along quiet in his own thoughts for a while, trying to determine if the fog is driving him insane. ‘Would an insane person know they were insane?’
You head to the last house you haven't explored yet: The Roshan Family House. The white well-maintained house stands at the side of the road. There are two windows facing the road and a single small wooden door. Again, the door is locked and a strange darkness prevents you from seeing inside the house from outside. On the back of the house is another smaller road and there is another window there which looks over the street. There is no backdoor though.
Sniv glances at the door as they pass around. Making special note of the window, he offers some assistance to Komos, but adds, "If you can't get through, we can always just break the window and get in through there. Hopefully, we are small enough to fit."

Pushing a button on his device, his lock pick set falls out into his hands and Komos attempts to get them into this building without needing to break the window ((25))
Komos seemed to have gained his thunder back. In no time at all, he unlocks the door and the party can enter. The door itself leads to a large seating area with a red carpet on the floor, a round table and a shelf full of books. A long set of stairs go from this room to the upper floor. Under these stairs is a doorway that leads to the dining room and the kitchen. On the right side of the room is another door. This one is locked.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As he has done with almost every other building, Sniv heads straight for the door under the stairs and moves towards the kitchen. Jiggling the door handle, if the door is unlocked, then the kobold makes his way in and starts poking around.
The kitchen and the dining room had some ornate wooden furniture but was otherwise unremarkable. In the dinning room, there was a large table able to sit up to 6 people. There was a cupboard with a glass door that housed the various expensive chinaware that the Roshan Family used. There were plates, teacups, and expensive dishes. A single door at the right end of the Dinning room led to the kitchen. The kitchen was small and unlike the rest of the house you've seen so far, was in a mess. It had plates kept close that were to be washed but weren't. There was dried oil stains and bread crumbs on the plates and the spoons. It looks like it's been used a day ago and then no one cleaned it. This suggest that the family ate breakfast and then didn't clean the plates for some reason. Could they have disappeared earlier than all the others as the rest seemed to have disappeared sometime in evening or night of the previous day. The kitchen contains wooden cupboards and a drawers that contain spices and utensils to use for cooking and serving food.
"Wait, let's stay together now. If there's another one of those things here, we don't want them to get the jump on one of us."Varn then quickly follows with Sniv into the kitchen.
Komos gets high on the spices... I'm just kidding.
The spices seem normal. There's salt, there's basil, there's rosemary. Komos sneezes when he smells the peppers. Some of the spices were exotic as well. It seems the Roshan family was quite well off in spite of not living in a mansion.
With a little bit of tinkering the locked door pops open. It leads to small personal study. It has a large desk of dark wood that is pushed against a wall with light from a window falling on it... or at least the light would fall on it were it not for the fog outside. The desk has 3 drawers and a small cabinet attached to it. On either side of the desk and on the left wall are bookshelves filled with books. On the right side of the desk is an wrought iron candelabra to offer light for reading. It is currently not lit. On the right wall is a single door with a padlock on it. The room seems otherwise unremarkable.
EDIT: Also party gets 62 XP from unlocking the door.

The door under the stairs led to the kitchen. Everything looked to be in order to Sniv though.
Also everyone gets 187 XP from Komos unlocking the door.

Okay... Sniv and Varn are both in the Kitchen. What's Komos up to?
Komos follows the others in and starts smelling the spices.

Sniv finishes his investigation and shrugs, "Alright, I guess there's nothing in here. Do you want to check the locked room next? Or go upstairs?"
If they go towards the locked room, Sniv will give Komos some assistance in opening the door.

"We may as well check here first." Komos says, pulling out his tools and heading towards the door. ((15))
