Tiamat responds sadly, "If I could, I would have done that already. Sadly the Golden Emperor's hold over this place is getting stronger and I lack the power to summon creatures. I am sorry."
Skarro's shoulders sag a little at the news; he had hoped it was closer. After a moment he asks, "Will the others have cover when they get there? If so, they might be able to distract the Hunter ... so you can avoid danger."
"I can stay hidden to avoid danger to myself. It is you I am worried about. Cover will become less and less effective the closer you get. If some you stay undetected and move closer to the Hunter, what of those that the Hunter is shooting at?
Skarro pauses. He had always talked to his god, but he was never certain that she had answered. Until recently.
Part of him believed it was his imagination, but another part -- the one that had negiated his pact -- knew she was there, and knew she was more vulnerable than ever before.
"Magnifiscence...I... I hoped they might safely distract the Hunter when they arrived, so that Skarro could move on." I had also hoped Hunter was closer.
((Does Zorn, Varn and Komos have anything to say to Tiamat? She's not just communicating with Skarro, she's communicating with everyone. If they want to join the conversation they can))
"Don't worry," Varn chimes in, trying to ressure the goddess. "We will triumph, even if it takes a little while." Though, even having said that, Varn just remains behind the tree, unmoving. Maybe if he waits for long enough, the Hunter's focus will be shifted away again. Otherwise, he just has to trust his stealthier subordinates.
"Zorn want know if mighty goddess want Zorn to remove hunter threat?" Zorn asks softly. "Or should Zorn continue on and stop trying kill hunter? Is hunter something Zorn can kill?"
Tiamat answers, "The Hunter can be killed. However, Zorn, you can't do it alone. You need the help of your friends if you wish to even have hope of killing it. Varn, I am glad you are confident at least. That does make me feel a bit at ease though I will still worry as the fate of the world rests in your shoulders. I can't talk anymore. I hope to see you safe and sound out of the forest when you are done with what you need to do."

Okay I am now ending Initiative.
The current situation is that the Hunter has Skarro and Varn pinned. It has lost Komos and Zorn but if they too close to another eye, they might be found out again. The Hunter is half a mile away from your current location. It is readying action to shoot whenever Varn or Skarro peeks out of total cover.
How do you deal with this situation? How do you make the long half mile journey?
Zorn moves over to whisper into Komos's ear. "Goddess say Zorn need others fight hunter. Zorn need go back get others." He turns back then and starts moving back to where his companions are hidden.
So, if I have the math correct, we are a ten-minute normal walk to get to the hunter. We have a speed of 30, which equates to walking at 3 miles per hour. So 20 minutes to go a mile and 10 minutes to go 1/2 of a mile. If we move stealthy, then that cuts our overland movement in half, so we would take 20 minutes to go the same distance. The problem we have is getting the hunter to lose sight of the two he has pinned down now. If we cannot do that, then nothing else really matters, as there is no way to reach the hunter, not all of us anyway, with that distance to go, unless he loses sight of everyone. I have no ideas on how to make him do so though.

This is pretty accurate actually.
Also there are other challenges present on top of the ones you mentioned. The Hunter is ready to shoot as soon as it sees Skarro or Varn coming out of cover and it WILL see them since the Hunter can see everything basically. Plus the Hunter will be more alert toward things heading its direction so the closer you get to it, the harder it is going to be to stay unnoticed, even for Zorn. Finally the Hunter may have lost focus on Komos but it does know what he looks like. It's going to be harder for him to get close to the Hunter undetected.
Zorn moves over to whisper into Komos's ear. "Goddess say Zorn need others fight hunter. Zorn need go back get others." He turns back then and starts moving back to where his companions are hidden.
Komos simply nods and follows along with his friend, staying as quiet as possible as before.

So the idea of getting to the tree then using the tree itself as cover and distracting the huinter (say by setting fire to the tree) is not going to work in helping Skarro and Varn to evade the Hunter's attention?
Moving back to Skarro/Varn does not seem to help since we still need to distract the hunter, and the only means we have of doing that are (a) playing whack-a-mole with one of use or (b) doing the same with a demon-dog. Is (b) the plan?
Varn leans against the tree and tries to relax. Either the Hunter will get bored or lose focus at some point, or... he can just wait, perhaps even let his body recover, a bit. It's the same either way. He has one last idea, but he hopes the Hunter will lose focus first.
(Unless the Hunter loses focus or anything changes the situation... Varn tries to take a short rest.)

If you can get to the tree you can distract the hunter and it will work. However the main problem is getting to the tree itself. As for if you can use the Hunter's Tree as cover... you don't know that without seeing it.
(( TBH, I can't see a way for ALL of us to get into stealth without distracting the hunter. Varn's plan gets Varn into stealth....others coming back will help Varn with better stealth, but knowing the layout of Hunter's position is probably most valiable at this point...I think ))

Skarro recoils in horror, "It is Skarro who must apologize for weakness! But we will succeed. Even now the others advance."
"Does the goddess how much farther we must go?"
"I do... The Hunter is where the cave used to be. It is now replaced by a massive tree. It is half a mile away from your current location."
