As they rest Komos pulls out his Icosahedron and spins it around until he finds a button that looks like a gem with a small electric bolt surging through it. Pressing it a small gem pops out into his hand. Komos goes up to Sniv, and places the gem into his pocket, saying, “I used this a lot when studying. If you find yourself loosing focus it’ll give you a small shock.” ((Mind Sharpener)). He then goes up to Varn and, fiddling with his spherical toy asks, “Using your magic up close is quite dangerous. I have something that could help your accuracy with spells, or something that will protect you. Which would be of the most use friend?” ((Enhanced Focus or Enhanced Defense))
(Varn doesn't wear armour or use a shield, so that's not really an option.)
"That is one option, although we could also go back to the inn. Oh, well, I guess the blacksmith's shop is fine."On the way, he thinks about Komos' suggestions, and eventually replies: "Well, of the two, the former sounds more fitting. Besides, my scales protect me better than I could use any kind of deffensive items."
“Easy enough!”Komos says, and again finds a button on his Icosahedron. Pressing it a small wand with a glistening crystal on the tip pops out. He hands this over to his friend to test the weight and feel of it, knowing it should help with his spell casting.
Sniv's eyes widen with gratitude when given the gem. Taking it gingerly out of his pocket, he looks at it with reverence and then turns to Komos, "Are you sure this little thing will work?"

“The mark of a successful DM is when you have caused more player deaths with doors than dragons, demons, or devils.”
Alright then. You all make your way through the eerie quietness of the mist covered streets and reach the blacksmith's shop again. It feels a bit strange as this was the same shop you all saw in that strange flashback. However there is something much more concerning here. The corpse of the strange fleshy bug-like creature that you killed is gone. There are no blood stains, nor wetness of the floor. It's as if the creature was never there and that you never killed it.
The dogs seem to have returned here to wait for you.The ropes used to tie them to the furniture had been chewed through but still are tied to the Mastiffs.
Sniv is a bit more curious about the fact that there is no trace at all of their previous fight, but he puts it out of his mind for now as the kobolds rest. Once they are all are rested, he asks, "How did it just disappear like that? Someone must have moved it right?"

Sniv wouldn't suggest it as he assumes the dogs would be able to warn them of any approaching danger, but he wouldn't be opposed if another party member wanted to lock the doors. He also takes the rope collars gently off of the dogs during the short rest.

Sniv repeats his question now that the group is feeling more rested, "How is it possible that the monster we fought here, just disappeared? Doesn't that mean that there has to be someone else here?"

"Perhaps the other one? I wouldn't be surprised if it could lift this one. It looked much stronger. I don't know about the blood though. Perhaps there's a third one? That wouldn't be very surprising." Varn offers his thoughts, though it doesn't sound right to him either. Lifting a corpse shouldn't be too hard for a strong creature, but cleaning blood is hard, especially this fast.
"There are likely more around then..."Komos says. "Perhaps after the next we simply take its head and go home with our trophy. I don't want to spend any more time here than needed."
Sniv nods hesitantly, "I agree that we should get out of here as soon as possible. This place is making me uncomfortable." Thinking for a second he adds, "But there is a small problem. If it wasn't another creature that removed the bodies, that means that there might be some other magic that is causing them to disappear. If we leave and then the head of the creature we kill disappears, then we are empty-handed and don't have any other leads. If we do run across another of these creatures, perhaps we should hide around it to see what happens after we kill it."
"That aside, do we even want to go back in the restaurant to see what is deeper inside? Or do we want to try another building?"
Seeing that the others await his command, though not sure which he should issue, Varn chooses the safest route. He has been knocked out multiple times today, and that's not a good thing. "Let's head for the restaurant. If we're looking for more clues about whatever is going on here, we should search methodically one building after another."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sniv nods and leads the way out of the blacksmith's shop and back to the restaurant. As he walks, he does his best to mask his footsteps although his armor still makes it difficult to be quiet.
You walk through the mist covered streets of the town. Everything is eerily quiet once more. You make your way back to the restaurant. Strangely, the melted flesh and the single kobold skull that was left of the hulking beast is no more. Like the acid marks and the corpse of the previous mantis-like beast this one has disappeared as well. Even the blood stains that were left from both the best and yourselves on the various walls from the fight have also disappeared. Even the wall it broke through has been repaired. It's like the beast had never existed.
You are currently in the kitchen of the restaurant. Through a door, you can reach the main part of it where all the tables and chairs are arranged.
Sniv isn't very surprised that the other beast is similarly missing, but when he notices that the wall is repaired he looks intrigued. Stepping closer to the wall that it broke through, Sniv checks for any signs of repair or marks that would show that the wall had been fixed recently. He then continues forward into the main part of the restaurant.
“Sounds good to me.” Komos says.

Varn is mostly thankful for the situation. "Much better than sitting in that thing's blood."
He then tends to his wounds during this time, regaining 10 hp.
