Continuing down the road, the group passes by more of these fleshy vines with eyes that watch their movements. Then they hear a sound of hooves and wheels, as if chariots are are driving up from behind them. There are more than one set of these wheels and hooves and the sound is faint but getting louder. They hear the loud crack of a whip followed by a distorted shriek of a horse. The mist still obscures their vision though and they can't see what it is that's coming but something is getting closer and closer to them from behind.
"Something is coming." Zorn calls out so those on the other mount can hear. "Want me to break down one of these trees, or something, and block the road?" He eyes the area around, appearing to be sizing up items he could break so they would lay across the road behind them.
Skarro nods, "Yes. Around a corner. To surprise them. We hide." He waits and assists if necessary, ready to hide behind the tree if it is not felled in time.

Zorn frowns at Skarro for a long moment, then climbs off of the second mount. He had not figured anyone would take him up on this. Moving to the cloesest tree, he attempts to shove it over.
Zorn tries to shove a nearby tree to block the path. The brown tree is cold and rocky to the touch, as if it was made of stone yet it was still alive somehow. He pushed but even with his magical Hill Giant strength, the tree refuses to budge from the spot. The sound of hooves and wheels get louder. The party sees in the fog, the silhouette of four creatures getting bigger as they get closer. They're still not close enough to be able to tell what they truly look like but it is definitely not something as simple as a horse drawn chariot like the sounds seemed to be at first.
"Ok trees are magical." Zorn mutters to his companions. "Must be like other strange things, making trees impossible to move." He shrugs and uses the tree to hide behind as the figures on the road get closer.
While Skarro sees the value in his companions hiding behind the trees, he can not bring himself to join them. His people spent too much time cowering in fear.
He would face what is coming up the road directly, perhaps distracting them from his companions. He knows that has his duty to his goddess to consider, and does not want to put that at risk unnecessarily, but the world has changed so much that learning what he can from strangers might be valuable.
Drawing his longsword, he rests with its tip on the ground and both hands on the pommel, his shield strapped to his left arm, loosely gripped.

The eyes on the vines keep watching as the party attempts to hide (except for Skarro. He's front and center.) Out from the mist bursts out four creatures. They have leathery skin as black as night. The body of the creature is like that of a horse however the neck leads to what can only be described as a fleshy mass of fused horse heads with multiple horse mouths and red eyes. Its front two legs are horse legs with hooves. The back part of the body is like a metal chariot, the flesh melting and warping into the metal. Metal wheels of the fleshy chariot rattle as it moves. On top of the chariot is a humanoid torso with the skin growing out like a long hood over where the head should be. Covered by the hood, the head seems to be made of metal and designed like the visor of a plate helmet rather than a face. The left arm of the torso is like a tube, fusing with the horse body. The right arm is a long spindly tentacle like a lasso. Attached to the back of this creature is a large drum, able to fit 2 fully grown men. The drum is made of a nightmarish fusion of metal and meat.
The creatures are upon the party and hiding proved ineffective as the creatures seemed to know exactly where the kobolds were hiding. It's like they can see through the eyes on the tress.

(Sorry, did not realize it was Zorn's go...) Zorn lifts his bow, a swarm of tiny buzzing insects swirling up around him. Several land on his bow as he lets loose the first arrow. Almost immediately he has another arrow nocked and loosed, the tiny passangers aboard the second arrow as it leaves his bow as well.
Action: Attack: 19 Damage: 6 hunter's mark Damage: 2 Attack: 15 Damage: 6 hunter's mark Damage: 3 From gathered swarm, if one of the above hits, the swarm does an extra 2 damage to the target.
(I always thought Fireball is overpowered, now I realise this is my first time actually casting it in a game, despite playing for nearly two years.)
Varn steps forward. "The dragons have sent us on a mission, and you shall BURN before them!" He points his wand forward, to a point between the chariots. For a brief moment, nothing happens. But, then, fire begins to rapidly spread from that point, quickly wrapping all four chariots in a burning dragon's flame.
Casting Fireball to include all four chariots. Each much succeed a DC 15 Dex save or take 33 fire damage, half on a successful save.
Komos, seeing the chariots approach, pulls out his Icosahedron and presses a button on it as his protector cannon drops out and hits the ground near them, skittering around a second before ringing its bell, granting everyone 7 temp hp. Komos then takes a few steps back to give himself more distance from the charging chariots.

Skarro stands his ground, his teeth bared. He watches as the flames erupt around the chariots and his eyes narrow as they emerge largely unscathed from the flames, but his gaze does not falter.
The weakest of the enemy draws his attention as eldritch energy launches from his hand to the heavily damaged chariot.
He moves a little back and to one side, standing beside a tree to avoid being attacked from all sides by the chariots, but still positioning himself between his companions and the oncoming enemies.
His baleful gaze sears into the chariot as it approaches.
Attack: 7 Damage: 11
Second Blast: 20 Damage: 10
(( Note: I forgot he had two EB's, which would have also meant he would have used hex, so added hex and second attack )) Disadvantage on STR checks.
As the two bolts of energy go hopelessly wide, he flinches, but stands his ground
Zorn's arrow sticks to the horse parts. It lets out a chilling wail. Then Varn's flames consumes the Chariots. Skarro's bolts of eldritch energy beams vanish into the ball of fire. Then the chariots burst through the fire and uses its whip-like tentacles to try and ensnare the kobolds. The tentacles hit the ground and raise dust clouds, barely missing the intended targets.
Zorn steps back several feet, and makes sure a tree is near him that he can step behind as well. he then sends another two arrows at the strange creatures, each shaft covered with tiny biting nad stinging pests...
Attack: 14 Damage: 11Hunter's Mark Damage: Unable to parse dice roll. Attack: 19 Damage: 6Hunter's Mark Damage: 3 If either of the above hit the enemy takes an extra 6 damage from the swarm.
An outraged roar escapes Skarro's lips as he wades in to confront the his foes. "Stand in the way of our duty to her, will you? That insolence will cost you your lives!"
Action: Conquering Presence - DC14 WIS save, or become frightened.
