Richard recognizes the black scarf and yellow skull painted on it. The Nightcrawlers, a group of enforcers for the Guild of Thieves. (I'll put the info on the link WorldAnvil ).
At the same time, Astra's words shatter the silence. The stunned shadows you were collecting from the start stop in their tracks. One of them, taller and clearly the leader moves toward the group.
His hands are in the air. "I can't let you pass, the guild has strict rules about using its paths."
"I understand that you need to go somewhere but rules are rules. I need payment."
At Kulogall's words, he smiles. " Ok; but I'll need to know where you are going and why."
“Take your tax graciously, and we will be on our way. Our business is our own. I said we have no quarrel with the guild, but I suggest you do not follow us. You are not very good at it, and I shall not be so magnanimous should I catch you tailing us again tonight. And I will catch you.”
"I like you Astra." the man says smiling (but still taking the coins if you give them ). He is clearly trying to hide his nervousness at the group's fearless approach.
"I will let you go, for this once, but please next time" he lets a sigh, " Don't make me look bad Astra."
He looks at the others waving them away then turns to the group his eyes going flat and steely. "I like you but not enough to lose my life." he comes a step forward whispering.
For Astra
"The name's Stringer. When you are free, meet me at the Goose."
I will pay for our passage, but I have absolutely no idea how much to give?
Astra meets Stringer’s eyes as she passes the coins to him. “I do not consort with crim...” It is Astra’s turn to sigh sheepishly, as she considers the.. unique composition of her newly-formed squad.
“Present company excluded,” she confides, gesturing back to her team, “I do not make a habit of meeting with men like yourself. Have a good night.”
With an even bigger grin, he bows deeply to Astra. " Of course my lady I wouldn't dream of shadowing your honor but know that I am not always on duty." he pockets the 6 silver and turns to wave his group way.
Before leaving he takes a measure of the group, stopping to wink at the dwarves. He nods at Richard and raises an eyebrow at Kulogall.
"Strange bedfellows you are having indeed my lady."
Kulogall looks straight away at Stringer and says, “What, do I look like a fish out of water to you?” He gives him a smile, then in about 2-3 minutes later he breaks out in a big belly laugh. “Onward!” He says to Astra “This is indeed a good night!”
"If they've got any smarts between them, there'll be a report about this around the guilds before the hour is done. Let's not give them more chances to decide their best interests include us dead. It's a long way to fall from up here."
“It can indeed, Borys. Which is why I endeavored to disengage. And yes, Redric. It is a long way down.”
And I have fallen so far, already.. No, mustn’t think like that. These are good men, or they can be... Good to have at my back in a scuffle, at least. I hope.
Kulogall tries to get a feel for where they are on the rooftop highway and the extent of how far this goes. He starts to get prepared for what they may find at their destination. “Let’s keep our guard up, I wonder if they will have this entrance guarded.” He keeps scanning the rooftops for movement and location.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
There is no movement on the church's roof but you can see the two guards at the main entrance. Another seems to be doing rounds.
There is no thief-made bridge to go to the church roof and it stands about 50 feet from where you are but 15 feet lower.
The song of a service filters through the punctured roof. It calls for redemption for all sinners and finding a way to redeem Baldur's leaders into the light.
For Durthek and Redric:
The leader of Nightcrawlers has been a regular in Baldur's Gate. He might have recognised you. Or maybe it was the unease at being on the rooftops.
"So we're to wipe out the sect, but the church is probably a front... could be a lot of people in there what aren't initiated into the cult yet. Not really much different from any other front business, keep enough traffic and non-members hanging out where the public can see, and your dealings behind closed doors go unnoticed. Any direct assault means the guards get involved and things get messy. Could see if there's a sewer entrance? If the church is a front, then the real cult business probably happens in the back, or in the cellar. Iron, we used that to drag that fellow out of that hidden gambling den up north, remember? Or we could have a few approach as possible new members? That works sometimes, if you know what to say to be convincing, but not oversell it."

"Going in as possible new acolytes might be the best option. We can assess the place from the inside, get an idea of what we are up against and then decide whether we stay after the potentially innocent have left, or head out and make further plans for an assault."
Richardnotices Boryslooking around for an anchor to tie a rope and joins him.
"Lets see if we can get down in a side street facing away from the building proper. Then we can approach the building as if we are just coming for the evening service."
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kulogall likes the plan and looks to help. He looks for any easier way down; stairs or a step ladder, or an anchor to tie a rope to, away from anyone who could observe them.

Astra returns to the front of the group, taking her place behind Richard. “Let us proceed.”
6 sp removed on my sheet.
Richard smiles at Astra, leaning in,
"Nicely done, my well armoured friend, looks like you may have gained an admirer."
Richard winks mischievously at Astra, looking back at the retreating rogues.
Richard turns back to the job at hand, scanning the roof tops to get his bearing again, before leading the group forward to their destination.
"Right, onward to good fortune."

“I must confess, I’m not loving our chances, leaping to the next roof. Suggestions?”
Astra speaks in a quick whisper, as she listens to the service below, trying to detect anything untoward in its message.
