"We don't have to go personally, do we?"Thamior asks, almost absentmindedly. He looks at nothing specific over his shoulder and points to the roof of the church, as if commanding something unseen to go take a look.
Tell my familiar telepathically to go take a close look at the church. Find a way in, look for people not in the sermon to eavesdrop on, and look for anything hidden. If it sees or hears anything interesting, tell me telepathically so I can take a look through its senses. And don't let anyone or anything inside know its there.
“Find a way down out of view. Simply entering the church somewhat defeats the purpose of using the guild’s highway to approach, no?”
Astra removes a vestment from her small pack, a simple chasuble of her order. It is white with an embroidered sun, and a smaller, blazing companion above it to the left. It is fit to be worn over her mail, and she quickly dons it, then replaces her cape over it.
”A small nondescript team should enter, and surreptitiously remain behind, after the service. This will be the way in for the rest of the team. I shall also enter, reconnoiter the interior, but then depart when the service is over. Questions? Concerns? Good. How’s that rope coming?”
Borys with the help of Richard and Kulogal manage to find a way to connect the two roofs.
There are a few followers coming and going inside the temple but the guard keep a close eye on them. A few have been searched before entering.
For Thamior:
You re familiar in none to keen on going ,sending obvious feelings your way and a few chosen grumbled words but he goes. He gives you a quick layout of the interior. The building is shaped like a cross with the entry on the sourg side if one of the branches. A group is gathrerd in the centersinging. About 14. A man in starked white robes is preaching. A large trap obviously leading to other rooms under is closed and in the priest's back.
"They seem like they're keeping a close watch... not likely they're going to let any of us in armed and armored, and with what we've got planned, I'm not sure I like that idea."

"My familiar says there is a large trap door right where the priest is leading the sermon. That is probably where anything we want to know about happens, so it would be best to sneak in after the preaching is over, maybe even wait until it's night", Thamior relays to the others.
To his familiar, he sends telepathically: "Thank you. We can do something you want later, so long as I think it's reasonable. You can come back now."
In the meantime we sit and watch, observing the comings and goings, looking for any interesting characters and planning our rooftop approach. Is there a dome to the temple or any doors that are visible that access the roof? Is there a way inside from the top or do we absolutely need to go down? “Can you guys see anything?” Kulogall asks.

( Maybe this on me not being clear sorry for that. )
Tarina gave you the roof access because there is a hole in the roof of the church and access to the upper parts. It is a way to enter inside the premises but you'll have to remain hidden until the opportune time.
"Look here, we found a makeshift bridge hidden over here that can connect us to the church. We don't even have to descend to the ground."
Richard helps Kulogall and Borys, carefully and quietly, extend the bridge over to the church.
"Good thing we are high enough up or I'm sure someone below would notice. Having said that, perhaps we should get over to the church roof and keep out of sight, just in case."
Richard makes his way over and give the church roof a quick scout, finding the hole, he takes a look inside.

Ahhhh, got it.
Borys will wait til this preacher is done preaching before taking action
The group manages to reach the church's roof. There is no one looking up there and the singing and the citie's night life drowns any sounds you make.
A small broken bell was used in the past and there is a small passage leading down. The wood is rotten at places on the steps. The floor of the church is 20 feet down, and lit, around the gathering, by several large candles but most of the other areas remains in the dark
As the hour drags by the service comes to it's conclusion
For all
You can tell me what you want to do from the roof during that hour. Might be better to coordinate your moves ( if you wish ) in the PM thread or whisper it here.
It won't help with rot, but if there are broken boards and the like that might cause problems for the party, Durthek can cast mending on them. When it comes time to descend, if we are doing it quietly, he knows that Astra and he are the least stealthy, based on their armor. If the party is slipping down a few at a time, he'll cast guidance on her, let her go down, then cast it on himself once she's made it down, and follow.

"Another approach would be to ring the bell, create a minor illusion of a ghost or an intruder and wait for the guard to come up and investigate. They could be surprised and subdued, and then we could enter. What do you think?" Kulogall walks over the the broken bell and looks at it, wondering if it could be made to ring again, or if it could be part of a lure.

Richard looks up from his search to answer Thamior,
"If we don't enter personally, we cant complete our mission."
At Astra's modification to the plan already suggested, Richard nods.
"Yeah that seems like an even better option. We would draw much less attention if it is only two or three of us, instead of the whole group at once."
Richard looks around the group.
"Who has experience with infiltration and going unseen?"

Redric curls up on the roof in the lee of the broken bell and takes a nap for the duration of the wait.

Richard gives a slight laugh and smile at Kulogall's suggestion.
"If your going to make a racket, we may as well have just walked in via the streets."
Richard looks out over the area around the building.
"My guess is, every guard would come running if the bell that doesn't ring, suddenly started too."
After the service is finished, Richard joins Redric in scouting the way down into the building.

“I am going to have to say no to the church bell. What is it with sailors, always with the ship bells and bosun whistles.”
Astra gives Kulo an unexpected wink before he disappears down into the church, then follows down after.
