"Did you come into contact with anything that might have been brought back from there?" Kathrine asks. "Spend much time, or any time at all, in the cottage that belonged to the dead man?"
"Did you come into contact with anything that might have been brought back from there?" Kathrine asks. "Spend much time, or any time at all, in the cottage that belonged to the dead man?"
"I came to Palebank Village a few years back from Shadycreek Run with my sister, Hulil." she begins.
"We work for the Uttolot family, who sent us and a few others to the village to keep an eye on treasures coming back from Eiselcross so that we might procure them for the family. When such artifacts come through the small settlement, they are often unusual goods that treasure hunters are trying to keep away from Uthodurn or the Dwendalian Empire so nonone really complains when things go missing."
She pauses for a second to catch her breath and then continues,
"When Urgon Wenth returned to Palebank Village with treasures from Eiselcross, I saw my chance. I waited for Urgon to sell his finds to Pelc’s Curiosities, then went into the shop and give myself a heafty discount."
"I gave most of Urgon’s relics to Hulil, but kept one for myself, this dagger."
She shows off an ornate dagger.
"Hulil has the other items in a site north of the village, in Croaker Cave."
"I was the one who searched Urgon’s cabin. I was hoping he would have a spell scroll or something that would cure this."
"I would suggest getting rid of the dagger." Kathrine says, glancing to the item in question. "Might not be the source of the disease, but might be better safe than sorry." She sighs as she glances to the others. "Likely will need to visit this Hulil as well, to see if they have contracted the disease, and to see what other items are involved." She looks back to their host. "Is there anything left at the shop in town, or is that a dead end now?"

Lia remains calm near the back of the group, watching and listening, quietly impressed with the more charismatic members of their group. It was looking more and more like they wouldn’t need her blunt approach at all, this time around...
Kathrine takes out a cloth from her pack, and takes the dagger, not touching the thing with her bare skin, and wrapping the blade up in the cloth, before placing both in her pack. "Wise choice." She says with a nod. Getting to her feet she glances around, then to the woman again. "Any suggestions on speaking with this other you took the majority of the items too? How do we find her, and are there any things we need to know as we approach. Remember, she might have been infected to, so getting to her quickly, and easily, is for her sake as much as anything else."
"As I said, Croaker cave is to the north of town not far from here. I'd take you but I'd rather die at home than in the woods. If you follow the cave all the way to the back you'll find Hulil's room."
"Thank you for your aid." Kathrine says as she bows politely to her. "We will work as quick as we can, hopefully finding the cure in time for you." She then nods to the others, leading the way out of the cottage. "As she said, I think a stop at the shop is in order, to see if there was anything there she did not take, then off to see about finding this Croakers cave."
You all take the fifteen or so minute walk to Pelc's Curiosities. The dark cabin before you has a sign over its door which reads, “Pelc’s Curiosities,” with the image of a curving dragon used to make the letter P. Though the shop appears closed, the front door is slightly ajar.
"Walk carefully." Kathrine says as she nods to the slightly open door. "I worry someone else might be searching for the same things as us..." She lets those more martially inclined lead the way inside. Moving to one side of the door, as she waits, she pushes a hand through her thick mass of chestnut hair, a bit nervous there might be more fighting.
Lia nods at Kathrine as she stands aside, and then edges closer to the open door herself. She takes a good look in, while remaining as quiet as possible, slipping inside if the coast seems clear...
Bides murmurs a few shadowy words, before disappearing ((invisibility via shadow touched)). he then crouches low, trying to keep quite while he walks in.
stealth check, with advantage because of invisibility, and disadvantage due to armor: 16 ((rolled in log))
"Oh, this is looking to be fun." Calos smiles a bit as the mystery of the open door leads them inside the antique shop. He glances around the place as he stealthily makes his way inside.

Roll a persuasion check.
Rolled in Log, result is 24, but need to add 4 from emboldening bond.

"Maybe one of the things he brought back is responsible for all of this, I dunno. Heard a few stories or two of artifacts being cursed."
"I would suggest getting rid of the dagger." Kathrine says, glancing to the item in question. "Might not be the source of the disease, but might be better safe than sorry." She sighs as she glances to the others. "Likely will need to visit this Hulil as well, to see if they have contracted the disease, and to see what other items are involved." Roll intimidation.
Intimidation rolled in log, rolled value is 20, add 3 from emboldening bond.
Tulgi takes the dagger out from under the blanket and hands it to Kathrine.
"If you think it best to get rid of it then here you go. You might check with Verla Pelc to see if she sold anything before I got my hands on it."
"I agree, better safe than sorry for something like this."

Calos waves as they leave the cottage, more than happy to be out of that situation, and follows to Pelc’s Curiosities.
”Agreed. I’m not liking this whole thing, who knows how far it could spread unchecked.”
