NEW CAMPAIGN - RAVENLOFT 1983

"I do not care what you do with my daughter. She is mad, and of no use to me. But you are correct on a few things. Everyone who has opposed Strahd has died. You will be no different. I get what I want, you get what you want. Everything else is inconsequential. Giving you an edge you think you might need doesn't mean anything in the grand scheme of things. Oh, the glorious power I shall receive. But let us see reason. Think of this as a trade. Can we come to an agreement, or do I need to add...motivation?"

Anyone who has undead detection, your scales go off the charts and the little needle breaks.

"Milady, we do not have an accord. I have misjudged you. I did not expect to find you in league with Strahd. Your lust for power leaves you unsuitable to rule. Let us take your daughter with us that she may have a life free of her madness."

“Or do I need to add...” Martha silently rages as her eyes shimmer, “motivation?”

She laughs a long brittle laugh, as if a little kitten was baring its teeth, trying to be tough. She stands.

"You will not take my daughter without killing the burgomaster. Those are the terms. If you wish to throw away your life recklessly, I will entertain you, but your threats are meaningless to me. What is your decision?"

“I believe I speak for most of us when I say,” Martha fires her hand crossbow at the old crone, Attack: 13 Damage: 8 and Attack: 10 Damage: 8

Plus 5 radiant damage on the first, do either hit?

In all the commotion, Imryll puts her hood up and hides in shadows.  (Stealth: 14)

Your shot splits her throat in half, she stands there for a moment, startled. Then she smiles. "They are all yours..." she gurgles and slowly thumps to the floor, dead.

Many things happen at once from this point.

The doormaid screams in surprise, her hands shaking with fear, she runs into the kitchen. 

An imp, who was invisible all this time, pops into visibility from on her back, and yells in a horrible scratchy voice, "Damn the Heavenly Planes! GET THE OTHERS FROM DOWNSTAIRS!" and scurries away downstairs, most likely fetching reinforcements.

Reyvin, Jhezryn, Novus, Democritus, Zaedra, and Taevia explode into the room with shadowy flair at opposite strategic corners in the room, fully donned in armor and weapons - surrounding you all.

"DO NOT LET THEM ESCAPE! DO NOT FAIL ME AGAIN." You hear Strahd yell all around you.

Roll for initiative. All of you are considered to be in melee range.

Briella reaches into her pouch and grabs the Symbol of Ravenkind, holding it tightly in her hand. The animals jump to her defense, blocking the vampires from her as best they can.

Defeated, Grishkar reacts mechanically to the new threat, "My greatest chance at power and escape... You could have at least left her alive for a few more minutes so I could coax a deal for new minions!"

(I have this wonderful Death Cleric feature that lets me target 2 enemies with necromancy cantrips instead of 1. Unfortunately, they are all necrotic dmg which vamps are resistant to...)

I believe we are waiting for Kia's roll before the carnage begins.

Also, as always, rolling 20s and 1 will be rewarded and penalized - so be creative with the 20s, i'll punish you for the 1s =P
