"I am sorry, Phillip, I guess I should've made that more clear. I'm no wizard. Please. It's ok."
Orvex's eyes widen when Phillip hands him the bow. "Wow. This is most impressive. Thank you, Phillip."
...and then Alton comes in with the shortsword, Gotur with the javelin and eventually Evo with the crossbow and bolts.
"Wow. Everyone. Thank you. Phillip, I don't want to put you out. This bow is beautiful. If Evo here has never used the crossbow, why don't I just take that. I get along better with a crossbow anyhow."
((it's a light crossbow, right?))
"Gotur, that javelin would be more of a hassle than a benefit for me, but again I thank you for the offer."
"Alton, that sword will be just perfect."
So, Orvex will take:
- The light crossbow from Evo with 20 bolts
- The shortsword from Alton
- The dagger than he already had from Phillip.
Orvex says to Gotur"We can try to look where you found me, but it wasn't really a shrine. It was more of a compound we were using as a base. My guess is that the Yuan-Ti raided it completely. Anyhow, I should be good for equipment now thanks to you all."
Ok, so we know that the door is rigged with a glyph, and there's a keyhole in the lock.
Phillip did not find anything in the pool when he tried.
No magic pings anywhere, no pings from detect good and evil.
What is next?
***Alton I will use this roll if you decide to pick the lock.
"I guess tomorrow I should prepare a spell that will let me handle magical traps. But for the moment, brute force? We can stand back and I can call on some fey spirits to attempt the door, if it disperses the trap, Alton can unlock it?"

Alton gives a nod. “Yep, if it’s non-magical, I should be able to disarm most traps out there, magic is just a bit out of my comfort zone.” The halfling says with a chuckle.
Phillip happily takes his bow and quiver back, seeing as though Orvex has weapons he’s better suited to.
Once again he’s proud of Mister E’vo who steps up once more, parting with his own crossbow, and who, in his eyes, can do no wrong.
Phillip suggests, “Ifffff- Mister G’Tur might be able to dispel, uh huh?… the magical trap tomorrow. Yey yep?… should we rest here now for the night?… …Most creatures probably leave this place alone, uh huh… fffff-P’or fffff-P’ear of that big ffffff-Prog….?!…”.
He looks up at the sky to gauge the time of day, to see if that idea was crazy.
”Or iffffff- we just want to trigger it somehow, uh huh?… I have some magical resistance to certain magical effffffffects!!… I could maybe take a blast from some things!! Yep nope uh huh?…”.
Orvex thanks everyone again for pitching in with his weapons.
Phillip, Eku is not keen on the idea of you triggering the trap. "No. Too dangerous. We could wait until tomorrow for Gotur's magic, although we will risk someone or something disturbing us. Frog or no frog."
Azaka also isn't super keen on Phillip or anyone for that matter triggering whatever this glyph is set for. "Too much of a wildcard. Yeah, I'm game to rest here until tomorrow morning if need be. The pool is kind of nice, if you don't look at the dead froghemoth and all. I still can't believe that thing ate me. It ATE me."
She pauses, and then cracks up for a few good minutes.
She needed that laugh.
After she get herself together, she looks at the frog statue in the middle of the pond and says "Whoever made that statue needs some work on their craft. It looks nothing like a Frog!" and she cracks up again.
Ok, so is the plan to chill here for the day and night, outside of the shrine until tomorrow morning so Gotur can cast his magic and then Alton proceed with the lock? If that is the case:
1. There will most definitely be encounter rolls. 3 total.
2. Alton will get to roll a fresh thieves tool's check the next morning after Gotur's spell, as 18 is a fail.
"That compound is where I found Orvex pinned. There were wild dogs feasting on those of his party that didn't make it out. I'm just as comfortable letting them return to nature, but if you felt compelled to see them put to rest for certain, I'll help, red wizards or not."

While Gotur and Evo discuss things, Azaka's curiosity is raised when Phillip mentions actually trying the key. She comes over to the door to see if he tries it.
Eku still isn't ok with Phillip trying anything when she and everyone know that the door is somehow rigged with a glyph, even though whatever it might do and whatever might trip it off is still unknown.
Phillip, are you going to use the key in this moment? It's on the ground in front of the door.

Alton offers to hand over a generic shortsword to Orvex, but doesn’t have much beyond that.

Over to you!
Evo peers at the statue in the middle of the water. What does it look like? Maybe it's a clue?
"Eku, can ye fly over and see if anything is written on that statue?"
((Its morning, yes? We want to explore another? ))

((Pending Eku's check, ya Evo'd be up to check another shrine.))
((it's 12:00PM, you could definitely explore another red dot on the Omu map today!))
Evo, Eku agrees to fly over and check out the statue.
She telepathically says to Evo
nothing seems to be written on it. let me have a closer look.
Eku Investigation: 17
Eku lands on the statue, grabs something out of the statue's mouth (with her mouth, haha) and then flies back over to the party.
She then drops a stone key in front of everyone who is at the shrine door, and remains hovering over the party.
She says telepathically to Evo
good call, sir!
What's next?
"It was a guess!"
((And the DM artfully pointed out the statue I had almost certainly not forgotten about..."
"We up to try the key? Could be a trap."
"Don't suppose that's a stone key that will disarm the magic trap... but if we're leaving this one for tomorrow, do we want to another location?"
((#2?))

#2 is where Orvex was found and is more of a compound vs. a shrine.
#3 however, is a shrine which the scouting party saw earlier.
"Either way, aye good to move on or to try and move on."
Gotur will take Evo aside.
