"Aye let's keep looking around. I'll follow your lead. "
"Perhaps the children can inform us as to where this mysterious basement is," Felix grumbles as he steps carefully through the servants quarters. "Maybe they can also tell us why after we searched the entire house we found no parents, no servants, and no signs of a monster." Felix wanders back down the stairs towards the entrance to the house and once outside asks the children, "You mentioned a basement, would you happen to know where it is? We have searched the the entire first two floors and have found no sign of a basement. We have also not found your parents or anyone else in the house. Where are the servants who's quarters we found?"
Slink heads downstairs as well and stops in the main hall. While waiting to see if Felix comes back with anything helpful she will take a closer look around the room. She will look at the walls and floors for anything out of the ordinary in it's construction.
Felix: The children listen to your questions, but they do not answer. In fact, while Rose stares at you, Thorn - the little boy - slowly smiles at you in a way that makes you very, very uncomfortable.
Slink:This house is way too neat and organized. Nothing seems out of place. It's like a perfect snapshot of a home where you can tell someone's living here, but..no one's here?
AREA 11 - THE BALCONY
Sofia: You climb up to the third floor and come to a dusty balcony with a suit of black plate armor standing against one wall, draped in cobwebs. Oil lamps are mounted on the oak-paneled walls, which are carved with woodland scenes of trees, falling leaves, and tiny critters.
DC 12 Wisdom (Perception) check: !?!?! DC 15 Wisdom (Perception) check: !?!?!
Sofia/Zoomi:You notice tiny corpses hanging from the trees and worms bursting up from the ground on the oak paneled walls. Zoomi discovers a secret door. It pushes open easily to reveal a cobweb-filled wooden staircase leading up to the attic.
"We found something!" Sofia called out to the others below as she cautiously peered into the secret staircase. "Before any of us go up there, let me send something up there first. If there's a trap or something... or someone dangerous up there, it'd let us know."
(Assuming people are alright waiting 10 minutes, Sofia will cast Unseen Servant as a ritual. Otherwise she'll cast it normally. She'll then send it up the stairs first and tell it to walk around the space before returning)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Debauchery, a quick smile alighting his face, turns and moves quickly to where the others are. "Ah, has this cursed place finally offered us some excitement?"
Slink hears Sofia but decides to stay downstairs with Felix. As she looks around the room she can't shake the feeling of wrongness she is experiencing. She heads to the front door to see where Felix is, sticking her head through the door she calls out..."wha'd the kids say? I think everyone else is on the third floor, we should probably see what they found."
Oricoril will have followed Sofia upstairs, "what have you found? Shall we check it out?"
He'll peak through the secret staircase taking a look while not entering completely. Perception22
"An attic most likely. I think we should wait until the others return before going up. I'd rather stick together in case we run into... something unexpected." Sofia shared.
"The children won't share anything. We should talk to whoever is in charge of this town after and make sure they are being well taken care of." Felix carefully steps back into the manor and hurries towards the rest of the party. When he reaches the staircase, he glances up. "Um... someone who can see in the dark should lead the way... I'll back you up"
Debauchery chuckles, hearing Felix's comment. "I'll take the lead," he says, readying his blades. "As for speaking to someone in town...from what I saw, it didn't look like much of 'town' was in a welcoming state."
Debauchery will try to move quietly across the balcony, intently inspecting the walls and general area. "Keep a close eye out everyone," he whispers. "I don't think our luck will last forever in this place."

Oricoril will take a brief kneel and pray "blessed Vigilant one, god of watchers, watch over these children as we venture into the unknown and bring peace to this household...now we should all be able to see alright. I'll protect the rear."
(I'll use my action to use my Eyes of night ability on Sofia, Slink and Felix. They now share my 300ft of darkvision for the next hour so long as we stay within 10ft of each other) Oricoril will stand up and regrasp his weapon and shield firmly and wink over to Debauchery. "Lead the way my friend."
This bare hall is choked with dust and cobwebs. It's very cold up here. The door to area 20 is padlocked, but the lock can be picked with thieves’ tools and a successful DC 15 Dexterity check.

Investigation Check
While Felix and Slink went down, Sofia went up to the third level and took in what may, or may not be there.
