"Well, it seems some of rabble had some burial gifts on them. Considering the very much were not resting in peace, I personally see no issue in liberating them of such things. Especially when you could use this, Thariv." Ufeza says as he picks up the potion and tosses it over to him. "Looks like about 30 pieces of golf in total. I'll put it in that magic bag to deal with later. Otherwise, one of them was wearing a holy symbol that matched the tree. So I think it might be worth checking out this crypt."
Zephyra smiles at Luther, "I'll take that, but my focus probably should have been on healing, so it might have been a little selfish on my part to return these creatures to the grave."
She studies the condition of each of the members of the group and uses Healer's feat on each that are injured starting with Thariv 9 then herself 13 . She will repeat this for other injured members if any are.

Luther nods in agreement with Ufeza "I have no desire to loot these people of their last worldly possessions, but we should take items that might serve the living better than the dead. This crypt might well offer some answers, are we ready?"
Expecting little chance to use his bow in the crypt, Luther equips his shield and longsword.
The noble's silver bracelet and the cleric's holy symbol both look valuable, both in terms of the raw materials that make them and in the detailed craftmanship that went into their manufacturing.
You walk next to the wall of carved niches holding the dead elves. Most are still intact, but a cluster of them on the west end are covered in the black fungus that affected the tree outside. The crypts here are empty, bursted open from the inside. One of them bears the same tree of life symbol that the undead cleric was wearing. The inscription over it names him Ivellios Liadon, but no other details are written there.
The corruption clearly started on the edge of the crypt wall, but you don't see the black roots moving during the time you spend there.
OOC: I swear I posted here yesterday. I guess I messed it up somehow. Grrr.
"Thanks,"Thariv says as he's provided with a potion and healing, though he saves the potion for now. On the subject of keeping what they've found. "This is sunken treasure, it's just underground rather than underwater. The laws of salvage apply, eh?"
Ufeza points at Thariv as he draws the sunken treasure comparison and smiles. "However, let's perhaps not anger any gods. We can return any holy symbols or other religious artefacts to the elves when we see them again. They can replace them as needed when they reintern the bodies. If they reinter them and don't destroy them. Now, it looks like we are at a dead end here. Perhaps we should continue on, maybe towards the west, as that is the end that the moss was growing on. That's the best I can come up with at least."
Zephyra nods in agreement with the others that at least the group should collect valuables as they go to decide later what to return to the elves and eyes Thariv as they start to move on. "How are you feeling? Are there other injuries I've not tended?"
You continue west past the corrupted graves, but the cavern ends not far past them. Most of the houses around the graves look empty, but the darkness makes it hard to tell if there is something important in the ones that you have not passed right next to.
Time for a (crude) map of where you are under the tree.
Zephyra looks over Thariv seeing her doctoring skills have left many injuries beyond her skill to heal with stitches and wraps so pauses to pray a moment touching his shoulder gently.
She follows this with lighting a torch and holding it high to see above and below where she can trying to be careful to hang back enough to not affect the Darkvision of the others.
Thariv thanks Zephyra for the additional healing. This crawling around underground and using magic seems to lead to longer slogs and more sustained injury-taking than the occasional skirmish at sea. It's a different world indeed that he finds himself in.
The half-elf sailor then moves slowly to the south, trying to spot any houses or other spots where something of import might be.
There are not obvious sign of what caused the corruption to spread to the graveson this end over the other identical looking crypts.
The abandoned houses provide no clues either. A few doors are open, most closed and a few overgrown with vines. All buildings are covered in a thick layer of dust. Most constructions seem to be houses, but a couple have signs over their entrances advertising food, lodging and wonders for sale.
The south end of the cavern narrows, ending in an archway leading into a dark tunnel.
Uncomfortable not being at the front, Luther follows close behind Thariv: "Let me past if something comes back to life or grows tentacles - I'll hold it off long enough for you to blast it"
The half orc keeps his eyes peeled for any sign of danger, or clues about the corruption.
The tunnel is silent as you slowly creep forward. Some sixty feet into it, the roof opens up to a great cavern and a wide landing stretchin out in front of you. A 40 feet wide ravine, so deep that you can't see its bottom stretches in front of you. To your right is a 10 feet wide bridge, formed from natural wood and ropes looking as if the tree itself had stretched itself across the gap. The bridge looks solid, but has no railings.
On the other side of the bridge, you can make out several smaller huts formed from the same materials as the bridge. Each of them has a single door to it, seemingly made of stone. At the far end of the large underground cave, you can barely make out the shape of a temple beyond. The tower of which is glowing with a bright green light from within. From time to time, you spot a surge of slightly reddish light coloring it as well.
During one of these red flashes Thariv spots skeletons on top of the huts near the other bridge head, posing as silent guardians in front of the city.
Thariv nods at Luther's words as they press ahead. "Yes, let's hope it doesn't come to me swinging my fine dagger again,"he says, trying to sound funny but mostly sounding disgruntled.
As they near the bridge, Thariv raises a hand to halt the group. "More skeletons,"he hisses, waving his blade in the general direction of those he's spotted.
"Can you tell about how many? Any chance we could try to sneak past and not have to cut our way through everything?" Ufeza whispers, squinting through the blackness trying to spot the skeletons and how many there are.

Luther will take a moment to check the crypts further down the line, looking for any sign of the cause of the corruption.
