"I don't see any door better than the other one. I'll trust you master dwarf !" says Clara with a smile. She tries to push silently the East door. (Stealth 16)
Behind the door a corridor leads 50 feet east, over two short flights of stairs back into 2 feet deep murky water. The corridor then ends in a room to its right.
The eastern part of this room is unlit, flooded, and braced with floor-to-ceiling wooden beams. Rough-hewn steps rise out of the murky water to the western portion of the room, which is dry and lit by two torches in sconces that flank a stone altar. Shackled to the wall behind the altar is a sickly man in a loincloth with a burlap sack over his head. An alcove in the north wall contains a freestanding suit of plate armor missing its helm.
Standing before the altar are two grim figures: a powerfully built woman clutching a mace, and an even bigger man wearing a bucket helm. The helmed man is jabbing the prisoner with a spear, causing him to twitch. Both figures are clad in chain mail, and the woman carries a wooden shield with a leering skull painted on it.
I assume Clara scouted ahead with her stealth check and is alone there. The figures before the altar did not notice Clara yet.
Clara is silently coming back and warn the others « we need to hurry. I think there are two evil-doers torturing someone. One has a bucket helmet the other one a shield with a skull, like on the doors. If we go now we might have an advantage of surprise »
"Best let those with some ability to move quietly go first." Leshanna says to the group, otherwise we won't be able to surprise them at all..." She starts to move quietly forward...
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Clara moves again with the front guard (stealth18)
If silent and when she feels everyone is ready, Clara will release an arrow at the bucket warrior. Longbow (with advantage because hidden): 14 , piercing damage 6
She will then retreat and place herself behind Briar and Lokat.
Briar resists the urge to rush in to the room and stop the cultists. It is best to let the stealthy ones handle things first, and she is far from stealthy with a glowing green amulet hanging around her neck. Instead, she hangs back out of sight, and waits for her allies to call her in if needed, or to rush back to her.
The doors don't appear to be trapped.
"I have a way to solve this...." Lokat would kneel down, twirling one of his hand axes and allows it to spin upon the stone... 4
Lokat would stare down as the axe would just stop, aiming toward back him instead of any of the doors. Fluttering his eyes, he'd shrug.
"I vote we go straight-on." He points straight to the East.
