OOC: Whelp. Ilyara has not a single spell that would be of aid in this situation, and the only item she could use is the rod. Hueh. Bubye, fox. At least you didn't take the rod with you. Time to go over chargen rules again and start planning the next critter.
Catching a drowned rat person out of the corner of his eye in the flush deluge, but unable to catch her, Tommary works some pitons through his own rope one handed, then tries to secure the other end of this rope to the rope he's clinging to one handed, if he doesn't lose his rope, he'll send the piton end down into the flush vortex, to give Ilyra something to hold onto and a way to descend to look for her when the wash is done. He's still yelling "wooooo!"
For work ropery under ridiculous duress (this is like Stallone in Cliffhanger level stuff), I'm going to roll Survival at disadvantage. Survival 10
EDIT: guess I'm gonna need another rope, so like "Woooooo ... damn"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
The rushing water splashes and sprays on your faces, trying to blink and wipe them free while still holding on to the rope and cloak, you just make out the torpedo shapes of vampire fish.

OOC: Because some of you are holding on to something and swinging in the breeze, I'm going to call disadvantage on attacks, and only one free hand as the other needs to hold on to something.
Ilyara doesn't have to hold anything but there is a literal ton of water pouring down on her - disadvantage on attacks also.
Ilyara Spoiler:
At the bottom of the pit you can see three triangular drain holes evenly spaced around the turning wheel. The holes are about 2 feet wide at the base. They greedily suck down the dwarf corpse and Tommary's rope. You would go down too but you have glommed onto the wheel and bag. Because of the volume of water, you need to hold your breath.

With a cunning action dash, his regular move and his bonus for moving while attacking, Tommary should have enough movement to Australian repel (climb) to the lowest fish and take a fillet swipe at it. I'm still shouting "Woooo!" Athletics for the badass wall running hanging by a thread: 14
Saber swipe at the below fish Attack: 15 Damage: 9.
If this is the fish that's attacking Ilyra, sneak attack damage 9
edit: or maybe I just flop next to it like its kin at the end of a famous Faith No More video... Nat 1s on both
Toots clings desperately to the rope with her left arm, desperately wrapping her legs around it for purchase. With her other hand she swings her lute towards the swirling vortex with a “Hyah!” and a net of pure force casts out at the fish she watched streaming towards Ilyara. Attack: 25 Damage: 9
Pointing the instrument directly at the whirlpool she messaging: “Ilyara, grab onto the net!”

OOC: I'm going to say that you cannot interact with the spiritual weapon in that manner. There is nothing in the text to suggest it is possible to grab, move, or damage it, and there isn't a guideline on how much it could carry. I feel it also takes away from spells designed to move things.
On the plus side, her knotted rope is still easily within reach.
You see Tommary howl out a Whoooo! right before splashing into the torrent of water. He is immediately lost to sight.
Tommary spoiler:
You land hard right next to Ilyara and a fish. You see three triangular vents through which the water is draining. There is so much water that it is pressing you down and you must hold your breath.

If Ilyra can see Tommary, he seems oddly blissful for someone who just crashed through water hard in a likely unintentional fashion. Could it be because some of his dissociative stress mechanisms put his mind into a song and dance space that lyrically touches on the prospects of drowning? Yes, very much so.
The rest of our intrepid group, Elyona, Tommary, and Toots hang to the rod, the rope, or each other, dangling above the thundering funnel.

While trying to tie up his own rope, the rush of water and slime cause Tommary to lose his grip and his rope goes tumbling down into the drain.
