To Prove D&D Exists for Echolon

For Toots:

Toots whistles a glowing pebble up the “exhaust port” Tommary has uncovered. “Wadaya see?”

The slots are dark and rise at an angle for about three feet then make a turn blocking further sight. 

You hear the sound of rushing liquid coming from them along with the oily smell.

"Turn it back off, Tallboots!  Don't like that sound!"

Tommary the Unworthy hustles for all his worth to undo what he has wrought in the sconce's wrought iron's doings.  Just rolling a straight Dexterity check for the manipulations, he's got a +6 in sleight of hand but he's not playing three card monte:  DEX 5

Edit, gonna throw on Toots' outstanding inspiration, I don't think the blob fight and my tinkering has outlasted the ten minuts: 7

23 ahem 22 for the Dex roll and inspiration.

Tommary's efforts yields no effect and the sound of rushing liquid gets louder with a pronounced increase in odor.

Tommary the Unworthy's Christmas lights epaulet still blinking shouts "Dash Away! Dash Away! Dash Away All!" as he models dash to the party, scrambling back to the door from whence they came.  Heck, he may attack the door frame to get that extra blade flourish movement.

"Back to the flush hatch!  We may need it!" Ilyara yelped, following suit and double-Dashing her rogueish way towards the dungeon-sized toilet they'd used to vent this place last time.  One hand already hovering her her immovable rod, in case some emergency brakes or anchors were needed.

Tommary the Unworthy Savior of His Own Skin would totally pick up on Ilyra's scramble and adjust his tallboots' vector to her lead.  Maximum dash need not mean tunnel vision.

"This whole PLACE is a physical embodiment of 'one of those days'!" Ilyara shouted back in a spare second between bolting for her fuzzy hide.

FOR TOOTS:

Toots shouts at Tommary “Oww, that’s my foot you lummox! We should rush to the other side, that’s the way we still have to go!”

 Toots starts running across the walkway towards the far side of the room.

As you run away you see a curtain of black liquid pour forth from the slots in the ceiling.

It showers down upon the wall, the water, and over the candles at which point you are knocked off your feet by a massive *WHUMP* of air pressure and heat.

14 fire damage DC 12 Dex save for half damage.

Tommary Dex Save 15

EDIT: and he nails a flame avoidant barrel roll while doing it.  6 fire recorded

Ahem, 7 fire damage.  I think I'm on a different base counting system today.

Ilyara Dexterity save: 25

Ilyara managed to dive to the ground, covering herself up from the worst of the blast wave.  "...I hate this place.  I really do..." she grumbled, reaching up to pinch a bit of flame off a singed whisker.

Elyona does her best to avoid the streaming liquid.  Dex Save: 21

OOC: So here’s an interesting question: was anyone within 10’ of Elyona when this went down?  Cause if so, those folks get +4 on their dex saves.

OOC: I'm not sure it's sorta moot in Tommary's case but I'll bump his save to 31 and

RETCON:  As Tommary the Unworthy Savior of his Own Skin dove through the air to avoid the conflagration, he threw his hands together and managed an aerial barrel roll through Elyona's higher power protection.  From the indulgence of an overhead camera perspective, which Tommary's vault time has given him the capacity to construct in his own mind, one could see the fire wrap around the aura making it seem Tommary wasn't so much jumping through a burning ring of fire but through through the air with a ring of fire escorting him.

A sheet of flame runs over the wall with the candles and covers virtually the entire floor of Henry's room before the oil stops pouring out of the vents.

You thought it could possibly get hotter in the mountain, but on the plus side, it's a dry heat.
