…a bolt of glittering chaos down the hall to no effect (miss)….
AFAIK, I rolled doubles on those d8s the only two times ever in recorded history, and neither instance counted. The first time it was an invalid casting, and this time I added 2d4 to the attack roll and still missed. To quote Pepe Le Pew: “Le sigh.”
PS- Toots is down to nothing but 3rd-level spell slots, and she just blew one of them on a mighty whiff. She is gonna be draggin’ ass after this fight.
That is, presuming she survives. The MPs don’t seem to be able to land anything solid on her yet,* and the oven hasn’t taken a serious toll yet either. But with my luck, if Toots tries to shoot something I might accidentally score a Critical Hit against her myself. Somehow Ely’s Divine Smite’ll kick in too, but burn one of Toots’ last remaining spell slots. Next thing anyone’ll know, her basic hand crossbow’s standard 1d6+4 damage will suddenly have morphed into 2d6+8d8+4 and perforate Toots’ brainpan so hard it’ll knock the “tens place” right off her Int 10 or something. Now, to quote Charley Brown: “Good grief.” 🙄
Bite if both claws hit Attack: 23 Damage: 6 DC 10 CON save vs poisoned.
That hurt, 30 more damage l recorded. (One more like that and it’s nap time for Toots.) Toots’ Constitution Save Vs. poisoned: 7. (Toots’ Concentration Checks Vs- 3 fire damage from the oven: 7; 9 claw damage: 10]; 15 clawclaw damage: 9]; and 6 bite damage: 15.)
Edit: “AHH! Oww, shi-it!!” Toots is poisoned, and has lost concentration on bane. (MP3 is still deafened.)
OOC: If Toots is in the lingering smoke from Ilyara's ring, she should be heavily obscured. Attacks taken against her wouldn't be at advantage, though she can't see for spit herself, either.
IC: "NO! Toots! I can't help you if you're that far away!" Ilyara yelped, cursing soundly. This situation was deteriorating quickly, all of her companions were looking ragged and she was low on mojo. Still, the scrunchy eyeless bastards were beginning to fall...if they could just get over the hump here, maybe she could start turning things around. Fauxyara darted in, flashing Elyona a thumbs-up before an ephemeral moonlight-and-shadows illusory fox hand reached out to touch the paladin. Moonlight and shadows or not, the contact was real enough for Ilyara to channel the Traveler's vigor through her illusion and cure some of Elyona's wounds. In the same motion, her Traveler's blade whipped around in a short, ugly buzzsaw arc, driving down from above to sink itself into the sallow, sunken flesh of their attackers.
{Cure Wounds, 2nd level on Elyona: 15 healing.} {Spirit blade on MP3, presuming that's the messed-up one I think it is. Either way, STABBING TIME: Attack: 9 Damage: 8 force damage.}
OOC: If Toots is in the lingering smoke from Ilyara's ring, she should be heavily obscured. Attacks taken against her wouldn't be at advantage, though she can't see for spit herself, either.
OOC: *SPOILERS* If the Toots is blind but the creature has blindsight and tremorsense, attacks against her would be at advantage no?

Elyona nods her thanks to Ilyara’s double as the healing energy flows through her, then tightens her grip on her axe as she attacks the creatures before her.
OOC: Thanks, Yurei!
1st attack against most injured of the two before Elyona; second against same target if it is still standing, otherwise against the other. Divine Smite on the first attack to hit. I’ll roll that separately. Once I see the rolls, I decide about rolling inspiration.
OOC: The smoke is heavy obscure, meaning no way I can eyeball a spell on MP5 or lightly obscured in which case I may be able to differentiate MP5 from Toots? If I'm reading the map, right MP5 is within 60' of Tommary, but I'm still drinking coffee.

Attack: 16 Damage: 12
Divine smite damage: 83
Spinning her axe, Elyona cuts a deep line into the creature with an astounding no.. massive ..no..stupendous...no...modest amount of radiant brilliance! The creatures tries to fend off another cut, but Elyona knocks the blocking limb out of the way and carves an X into its chest.

This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
OOC: Need to get some work done, still not sure on the cloud/smoke visibility to so I'm putting down an IF and IF NOT possibility before I'm away from the computer for a probably rest of day.
IF Tommary, through the melee in front of him and through the smoke, can make out MP5 well enough to target a spell at it, he aims a level 2 Dissonant Whispers at MP5, "gazing at you I give the heat."* Psychic damage 15 and MP5 uses it's available movement to get away from me, WIS save 13 halves damage and removes the flight clause.
IF NOT Tommary prances another cunning disengaged hustle to play MP3 with his saber, sneak damage added because of Ely's proximity to target Attack: 11 Damage: 18 then hustles back to his starting point.
*Tommary likes to see who he's talking to, thought he could see MP5, but MP3 kept meleeing around in a way blocking that view so Tommary went in for the closer assault, critically fueled by irritation at his line of sight.*

Won’t use inspiration, as I’m pretty sure 16 hits. But I will refill divine smite, since I obviously plugged it in wrong!

I don't want a crit to be wasted.
SO
