“I could turn into a flying dinosaur big enough for all of you and 9 to ride on, but the room isn’t big enough.”
OOC: Toots can polymorph into anything on this list, but this room’s ceiling is too low for anything Huge or larger.
“Could you turn into something smaller than that but big enough to carry each of us across one at a time? We might need to leave 9 here to guard our back, at least until we figure out how to turn the room “off””
OOC: Has anyone tried Dispel magic on the floor?
OOC: Interestingly enough, nobody has even suggested it until now.
OOC: That’s because non of us have that spell. If we did I would have suggested it way back. You think I would have spent an IRL overnight scheming up those deathtrap contraptions out of what we had available if I hadn’t already checked and discovered we didn’t have any simpler solutions? How do you think I knew who had a better Nature bonus, and that nobody else had a better Arcana? After I scoured Toots’ sheet for solutions, I checked Ely, Ily and Tom’ry next. (I even checked Hawksley.)
OOC: I see it on Ilyara’s list. I checked hers first (after checking what classes it’s available to) and didn’t check past that since at least one of the party had it available.
OOC: Oops. 🤷♂️ Yurei, ArwensDaughter, why didn’t either of you suggest that then?!? 😗🎼🎶 *whistling* 💭Just play it cool and nobody will notice, yeah… that’s it.💭
"Does anyone have the ability to turn the room into a ball pit or something? Like not changing all the magic but just fill it with balls, or oranges or something, maybe goodberries, and then we take our chances on making it through that before hitting the slip and slide to spikes bottom?"
Tommarysays this while covering the corridor from which they came with his hand crossbow, in order to look like he's doing something.

Then we got a line we can hand-over-hand to get through without tryin' ta coordinate expandin' ladders or other Rudi Goldenbyrgh* nonsense, but we can't get anybody 'cept Toots to t'other side of the room. And even if she went, she'd be all alone against whatever's on t'other side of the opposite door. if there's nothing over there? Speaking a quiet chant in the Traveler's secret tongue, Ilyara's fingers flexed and snapped the ephemeral chain in two, hoping to unbind the magic holding the room's enchantments in place.

The slightly slanted section of floor right outside the door and to the edge of the pit gives a sudden release of sparks as the enchantment breaks and scatters into tiny motes of fading light. Ilyara feels the satisfaction of a perfect cast, and she senses that anything less would have failed.

On hands and knees Tommary probes forward and confirms that the flat from wall to pit feel normal while the walls and ceiling are still slip slidey. The sides of the pit are also slippery. He can see that the pit is 20 feet deep with 5 foot rusted blades and spikes on the bottom. Proof of the danger is evidenced by a skeleton dressed in rotting rags impaled on multiple spears.

Re: Ilyara’s comment about her number of high-level spell slots the limitations on how potent and how often she can channel the Traveler’s blessings.
Toots half shrugs at Ilyara’s comment, her expression a mix of commiseration and concern. “I understand. I only just got strong enough to pull it off after we found you, and I’ve only ever done it that one time. Toots pauses to take a breath, and seems to hold it a bit before continuing. ”But the only other choices I think we have are to go on and try it, go back through that tunnel of doors we skipped, or go home without playing our full set. I don’t mind skipping an encore if the joint’s dead, but I hate not finishing…. Besides, if we go back without the job done, you know they’ll have to send someone else then. You know how rough this gig has been better than any of us. What if the next team don’t come back? What if they get turned into parchment people like your team did?
