The crawler disintegrates into a pool of floating, rotting, chucks of meat. The fish mostly stay away from the corpse as it is too putrid to eat.

"Nraah! Stupid awful lobster monsters! I JUST got dry!"
Incensed, Ilyara lashed out at the lobstrocity that had rendered her boat into kindling, striking with her new blade and calling her Traveler's blade back to her to strike in tandem, hoping to gut the bloody monstrosity like the awful sorta-fish it was.
{Green-Flame Blade, with a dagger so no disad for aquatic stabbing. I think. If ye want a reroll on this lemme know, Wysp. Attack: 12 Damage: 7 piercing on the basic dagger swing, 6 fire damage from GFB, resisted by a submerged critter, and 8 more piercing if Sneak ATtack applies because Tommary's in the drink on top of this thing right next to me. And also Attack: 14 Damage: 6 force damage from the Spirit Blade.}
OOC: Or a lot more than all that because the GFB crit. Heh. So the stated 9 piercing from Rilla, 4 fire damage resisted back down to 2, and 16 damage from the SneakaBlast if SneakaBlasting applies. Or I'll just roll another set of dice if that's how ye prefer. 8 extra fire, 7 extra SneakaBlast.
OOC: Would that be the worst idea? Not necessarily the spell, but busting through to the scorpion level. Flood them for a moment, bust ‘em up good, pause for lunch, and then sea lions o’clock. Ne?

Anyway, I made sure I picked the one that most likely kept its meat in lumpy form, not already feathered by the fish, when making crab cakes or seafood salad for that matter you NEVER want to feather the meat, even though your instincts tell you the meat's structure is pretty much encouraging you to do that. NEVER feather your crab meat, it turns your crab meat into b.s. confetti, just don't do it. Anyway, I'm assuming Toots has some old bay she puts on everything. OOC:
Yes, all seafood should either be cooked live, or right after it’s been euthanized. Unfortunately we cracked the shell, that will make crustaceans like crabs or lobster dry. Lobster is typically boiled in plain water and served with nothing but butter as the flavor is fairly mild. That is, unless you’re going for Lobsters Newburg, Thermidor, or Fra Diavolo, but IMO that’s all unnecessary for a good lobster. Heck, I even think the mayo on a lobster roll is unnecessary. 🤷♂️ Otherwise I prefer to simply steam it with shrimp, clams, mussels, potatoes, corn on the cob, and large chunks of sweet onion with salt, pepper, butter, and parsley in a sealed vessel. That’s similar to a New England clam bake, but self contained to save the delicious juice for crusty bread dipping.
Of course, that presumes these are like cold-water lobsters like in New England. If they are more like warm-water Caribbean lobsters (no claws), then I would baste it (in the shell) with an emulsion of olive oil, garlic, parsley and the least bit of lemon juice and zest you can get away with and still form an emulsion, and then grill the lobster. That recipe also works well with langoustine. In Triestine (a specific northern Italian dialect), langoustine are called “scampi.” Whenever you eat “shrimp scampi,” you’re really eating “shrimp a la scampi,” or “shrimp prepared as if it were scampi.” That’s basically what I eat every chance I get whenever I go back to visit my relatives. (It’s one of my favorite meals of all time.)
A tip for crab cakes: I mix my seasonings into “special” meat which is already “b s confetti” from the legs and smaller body cavities so I don’t have to worry about keeping the meat intact, and then gently fold in either lump/jumbo lump for Maryland style crab cakes, or claw meat for deviled crab cakes. (Deviled has more seasoning, so the darker claw meat holds up better as it has a more robust flavor.)
You gather several large pieces of crawler creature and load them into the kayak. Working together you flow to the exit with the scorpions chasing along after you. Tommary gets a more exciting WOOOOOO in the reverse gravity flow since he is not in a boat this time.. The party is able to exit the water ribbon with its "loot".
