"I personally felt menaced by the frogs and their greater numbers, I think we may have had a shot at the throne of the spider queen, but it's not so much about taking sides, I'm just wondering about the order of things here.  There's an established order of a border between the frogs and the spiders.  There was this occupancy of the Jacks now replaced by the Basilisk ... by these metal dudes who seem to be curating some sort of zoo or warehouse for monsters.  It makes you wonder about the order of things, and our role in it.  Like what if we produce this spider power vacuum.  Would the frogs take over, or would they set up a border with the basilisk, or whatever the metal dudes drop in next, like this is all some, some procedure being orchestrated by some dude in a cabin in the woods outside this mountain.  Did the oyster fork beyond to a Merman!  Ahem, anyway, more immediately do we subdue the basilisk in what used to be a Jack patch and bring that basilisk to the spider queen so that we've honored our debt or do we continue exploring what makes this spark place tick tock?"

“Can’t we explore the spark place and pick up the basilisk on our way back? Besides, who’s to say the basilisk won’t just meander back thataway and deal with the spiders all by itself? Or maybe the spiders will just subdue it and chow down. Who knows? What I do know is that ***** threatened to eat me and I won’t feel bad if that lizard eats her instead. Besides, what if the frogs are actually good guys? And if we do take the lizard back to the spiders and swing back by the frogs and do a similar deal to them, won’t that maintain the balance of power here? Jus’ sayin,’ we still got two more trinkets to find an’ those frogs might know somethin’ about at least one o’them. So if they do turn out to be no better than the spiders, as long as we follow through and perform our usual level o’mayhem, everything should turn out even in teh end. Right?”

"I mean, maybe, but if there's an exhaust port in this here sparky site, I"m totally proton torpedoing it and Lando-ing the eff out of here.  So I guess we ignore, or just note what just happened and move on."

“What’s a lando?”

"To Lando is when there's some serious cataclysmic stuff happening, possibly maybe likely of your own doing, causing an unbelievably amount of explosive and likely fiery explosive force.  You basically haul butt, dashing the fastest way out of there hoping to make it before the explosive and likely fiery force behind you consumes you.  Like when the Big Jack went kablooey, and I tried to grab Ely and dash out of there?  That was close, but in a true Landoing event I wouldn't have stopped to help Ely because there just wouldn't have been time.  I would've been TIE'd.  Getting TIE'd is when your maximum effort just isn't good enough and you get caught in the explosion.

[Pauses], what none of you ever went to Waywatcher SERE school?  Best school in the program.  Pretty much all you do is run and hide, light things on fire, and run through and hide around things you might've set on fire.  I guess that's why the flaming mirror tube was such a cluster.  Anyway, Landoing training is the best class at Waywatcher SERE school.  Though out my class of 8, I'm the only one left, everyone else is rumored to have died Landoing, but the Waywatchers don't keep official records or make acknowledgement of Lando events for liability reasons."

"...sometimes I wonder 'f we're actually from th' same organization, Tallboots.  Or hometown.  Or planet.  All th' same, lemme pass along a lesson 'f my own from Trickster School.  Th' more you know, th' better you can trick.  A proper good trick relies on you knowin' more'n whoever it is you're tricking.  We call it 'margin of ignorance', and the narrower it is, th' more likely your trick is to blow up in your face.  Right now th' spiders have home court advantage an' th' margin of ignorance is thin.  Might not even be in our favor.  That's when a gal's got t' step careful-like an' make sure she doesn't stick a paw in anything she can't pull it back out of."

"Which is to say," Ilyara said, her voice returning to normal conversational tones after delivering her little micro-lecture in a much quieter tone, specifically to the other Waywatchers and pitched to avoid overhearing by the spiders and the robits, "we should prob'ly see what th' deal is with this place 'fore we make any big decisions.  That yonder beastie'll likely be there when we get back, 'f I know this rock pit th' way I know this rock pit."

“No, I was excused from SERE classes on account’a I was a music major.  Hey Ily, also took a minor in public speakin,” an’ I learned some stuff in my Fast-Talkin’ and the Art of BS elective classes that might come in real handy for ya when the margin of ign’ance you were talkin’ about is super low. Remind me some night to compare notes with ya.”

The constructs move to another container and proceed to take it out. This one is filled with thick parchment boxes and bags. They up end it about 10 feet away from the still slumbering basilisk.
