The kobolds did only minor damage. You think that they were trying to weaken it so it would only support creatures the weight of kobolds. It is still perfectly safe.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Good hit Balasar" Hrothbert starts checking the damage on the bridge. "Help me check this over. I am not keen on crossing it if they did to much damage."
Balasar steps towards the bridge, pausing for a moment before stepping forward.
OOC: Balasar figures that if the bridge is safe to cross, it should hold his weight. If not, he can do some sort of monk leap and roll to get off of the bridge if it starts to collapse.

"I don't see much wrong with it. What do you think Balasar? I figure if our Minotaur here can cross we all can." Horthbert points over to the quiet Thulmar.
At the end of the tunnel, a wooden pulley system has been constructed around a large hole in the floor. A bucket big enough to hold a humanoid is held up by thick rope. Three alcoves next to the lift contain wooden boards and mining equipment.
"How much weight do you think that bucket and rope could even hold?" The bard peered down to see how far down the hole was. He lets a small whistle. "I certainly hate for it to break while heading down."

Looking forward to learning the game and making new friends. :)
“I also think we should keep Rhys with us from now on. If we’re going down then there’s no point keeping Whiterspoon up here and I’d rather have his magical abilities at the ready.”
“Agreed,Anya. I think myself or Thulmar should go first as we have cleared the path behind us and have a choke point at the bridge.” Hrothbert digs through his pack and pulls out a rope too. “Balasar here in case yours isn’t long enough”
Thulmar looks dubiously down the shaft. “I agree, if there is an ambush at the bottom of this contraption, I shall be able to hold them off until the rest of you make it down. If you hear kobolds screaming and dying bloody, Hrothbert might want to come down next”.
He waits as Balasar reinforces the rope, then gingerly lowers himself into the bucket. Bouncing lightly on his hooves to test the ropes.
(Assuming it holds his weight)
Thulmar looks up at the rest of the party and shrugs “Unless anyone has any other inspiration, I think I’m as ready as I’ll ever be” He spins the axes in his hands, getting comfortable with the grip, and crouches slightly into a ready position.
Hrothbert moves over to the lowering mechanism hoping it is simple enough. “Alright, Thulmar, yell if you find this is just a well.” Hrothbert jokes. “Everyone ok with this?”
Starting to lower Thulmar Hrothbert looks back to the group. “Any parting thoughts?”
"We're going down, but that bucket can only take one at a time. Thulmar is going first,"Anya whispers to Rhys. She doesn't like the idea that they have to go one by one, especially considering the fact that it'll make it harder for them if they end up running away from something down there.

It will hold his weight.
Reaching the other side, Balasar turns to the rest of the party.
"It seems safe," he says, "But I wouldn't linger on it."
"I don't see much wrong with it. What do you think Balasar? I figure if our Minotaur here can cross we all can." Horthbert points over to the quiet Thulmar.

Hrothbert shrugs and crosses the bridge carefully but quickly trying not to add extra stress to the worn parts.

Hrothbert starts looking through the alcoves. “Sure hope we don’t have to go down one at a time. Do we draw straws on who goes first.”

Balasar looks over the pulley rig that leads into the shaft.
OOC: He investigates 8
Regardless of the result, he still does the following:
He steps back for a moment, shifting his pack off his back. He reaches in and pulls out the rope he had stuffed within.
"We can always shore it up," he offered, shifting the rope between his hands.
“I also think we should keep Rhys with us from now on. If we’re going down then there’s no point keeping Whiterspoon up here and I’d rather have his magical abilities at the ready.”

Rhys "returns" to the group, having been led thus far by his companions. "I feel so disoriented. What's the plan?"

"Be careful Sir Thulmmar."

The bucket goes down 60 feet or so.
