Hello, I'm a way of the Kensei monk and my DM has allowed me to use a home brew Chakram as my Kensei weapon. He has allowed me to use it as a finesse weapon that can also be thrown.
As a level 3 monk, could I use my bonus action to throw my Chakram, use my movement to get close to the enemy to use my unarmed strike, and still get the +2 to AC?
Agile Parry requires a melee weapon (that chakram is a ranged weapon) and you lose the AC bonus if the weapon leaves your hand. Additionally, you don't have any features that let you throw it as a Bonus Action before taking the Attack action.
Hi, The kensei shot gives me the ability to use my bonus action to make a ranged attack.
Kensei's Shot. You can use a bonus action on your turn to make your ranged attacks with a kensei weapon more deadly. When you do so, any target you hit with a ranged attack using a kensei weapon takes an extra 1d4 damage of the weapon’s type. You retain this benefit until the end of the current turn.
It doesn't let you make ranged attacks with your bonus action, it enhances ranged attacks you make that turn after you use your Bonus Action to activate the feature. It basically exists to partially offset the loss of DPR from not getting your Martial Arts Bonus Action Attack or Flurry of Blows because you're making ranged attacks.

Thanks! I should have read closer that it doesn't give a bonus action, just enhances.
