MeatLuggin Thank you for data, if a Rogue chose Soulknife, might as well use Psychic Blade otherwise it's better off with another Subclass for slightly better DPR with other weapons i guess.
Ya basically if a rogue chooses soul knife it's more optimal for it to use the psychic blades including the second blade over mundane weapons but it prevents it from taking advantage of cunning action or steady aim. Since the subclass is build around the psychic blades giving a soul knife rogue a nice magic weapon wouldn't really help them.
The subclass seems cool but from a design perspective it offers a different style of play that makes them choose between utilizing other rogue feature and subclass features rather than augmenting existing rogue features like the other 3 subclasses do.
The biggest issue I see is not being able to use a magic weapon and use the majority of the subclass features. The dpr advantage that the soul knife gives over a base rogue is totally nullified by a vicious weapon, crystal blade, or even just a +1 weapon because of the increased hit chance (at level 5 soul knife average over 4 rounds is 21.86 where a true strike with a +1 shortbow is 21.46. At level 11 average dpr soul blade is 36.4 and true strike is 36 with a +1 shortbow).
