Yes, yes EdO06057 I have already conceded that you are right and I am wrong. I'm sorry I didn't preface my post with "We all know EdO06057 is right and I am wrong, but let me explain how wrong I am in detail ..."
From now on, just assume that any post I post on this forum has that as its header, but to save time I won't type all that out.

So why did you start posting again, arguing the same thing?
1. Are you currently playing in a continuing D&D campaign run by the same DM? (not just one-shots a a game store run by varying DMs for example).
2. If yes, to question #1: Do you play an OoS Wizard or desire to play one?
3. Have you discussed the issue of the thread with your DM, and if so, is the DM going to allow you to simply use 50gp found in a dungeon as the material component for this process?
One ruling we made on this, if your doing a scroll to your spell book the scroll is used up and that is the cost. If your doing from another spell book to yours and your not a scribe you still need the cost of the inks and time. As the scribe subclass doesn't mention anything about sharing and learning from others directly (which is list ed in the PHB very briefly).

To give you the satisfaction of seeing how wrong I am. You're welcome!
I have a couple of questions for you Dwayden:
1. Are you currently playing in a continuing D&D campaign run by the same DM? (not just one-shots a a game store run by varying DMs for example).
2. If yes, to question #1: Do you play an OoS Wizard or desire to play one?

1) No, but I did about a year or 2 ago
2) In that campaign I did play an OoS wizard
3) He housed ruled that it would cost nothing to copy a spell into my spell book
OK. You should stick with that DM if he/she is still running a game!
