I know that temporary hit points don't stack so this question might already be obvious but I'm curious nevertheless.
I'm planning to create a Monk multiclassed into Warlock for a couple of levels and came across a combination in Way of the Long Death and Fiend Pact. Both of those subclasses have their first ability (Dark One's Blessing and Touch of Death) which grant temporary hitpoints when you bring a creature to 0 hit points. The Warlock getting CHA+WarlockLVL and the Monk getting WIS+MonkLVL.
So simply put - would these abilities stack or would you only get one? On one side I know they're from different abilities and so two different sources so they almost certainly don't stack - but they are caused by the very same effect so I could see why they possibly might.
Any thoughts?
Edit: I would just like to clarify that I mean on a single knockout. I know multiple knockouts would mean constantly resetting the temporary hit points rather than adding up each time.
As you mentioned, temporary hit points don't stack, regardless of source.
As I understand it, if an ability/feature grants temporary hit points, and you already have temporary hit points, then your new amount of temporary hit points is the larger of the two values.
Example
You currently have 5 temporary hit points granted by a class feature. A different class feature now grants you 4 temporary hit points. You still have 5 temporary hit points, because 5 is larger than 4.
As I understand it, if an ability/feature grants temporary hit points, and you already have temporary hit points, then your new amount of temporary hit points is the larger of the two values.
You pick which temporary hit points to use. Sometimes a spell or other ability will have effects that are only in play as long as the temporary hit points granted by that particular game feature are in play, which means you don't always want to replace them with more temporary hit points from another source.

You would just get the larger of the two values. They may have the same trigger, but they are still non-additive abilities, so they can not combine.
That's a little disappointing but unsurprising. Thanks for the input.
