Hey All, I was just wondering if someone could clarify the rules of using a Double-Bladed Scimitar to make an attack with. If a PC with two-handed fighting attacks with it does it do 2d4 damage on the first attack and a bonus 1d4 on the second bonus attack? Or is it 1d4 on first strike and 1d4 on second?

If the player attacks with the double-bladed scimitar, they do 2d4+STR slashing damage. If they attacked with the double-bladed scimitar with the attack action, they may use their bonus action to make an attack that deals 1d4+STR slashing damage.
The DBS is a two-handed weapon and must be wielded with both hands to attack.
If the player has the great weapon fighting fighting style, they can reroll 1s and 2s rolled for damage for either attack. They can't benefit from the dueling or two-weapon fightinh fighting styles.
It is worded in a little bit of a weird way since it doesn't technically specify how many d4 it would be, but assuming they mean 1d4, RAW only the bonus action attack would deal 1d4, while the main attack would still be 2d4.

Are there plans to fix the issue with the Double-Bladed Scimitar being able to add the features of the Revenant Blade Feat? Unless the feat itself is supposed to be tied to the Revenant Double-Bladed Scimitar only. The Double-Bladed Scimitar is a non-magical melee weapon and the Revenant Double-Bladed Scimitar is a magical melee weapon. The feat only requires a double-bladed weapon so this seems like something the architects can just copy and paste the code used to make all the features work for the magical Revenant Double-Bladed Scimitar to the non-magical Double-Bladed Scimitar to gain the feats benefits.

I'm not responsible for managing your feelings or how you perceive or understand what I say and if you get offended, it doesn't make you right just means you cry and whine louder. I grew up in a time where sticks and stone may break my bones but words will never hurt me, such a missing trait among younger people nowadays.
I agree but your previous post avoids answering my question. The problem is someone made the poor decision to put the Revenant Double-Bladed Scimitar in the magic item list not the equipment list. Again this is just a matter of adding or moving code from one location (magic item list) to another (equipment list) to fix the problem something that would only take a minutes to do.
For everyone else, add the Revenant Double-Bladed Scimitar to your equipment list then go to its customization drop down menu and change the name to Double-Bladed Scimitar or whatever double-bladed weapon you create. This helps aesthetically for DMs and players who enjoy creative detail.

The problem with that is that it would make the revenant double-bladed scimitar a separate base weapon type and not a variation of the same weapon.
Basically, DDB's coding is lacking in some areas, and you will just have to put up with the work around that works until the system is upgraded.
As per the Feat: Revenant Blade Prerequisite: Elf You are descended from a master of the double blade and their skills have passed on to you. You gain the following benefits: • Increase your Dexterity or Strength score by 1, to a maximum of 20. • While wielding a double-bladed weapon with two hands, the weapon has the finesse trait for your attacks with it, and you gain +1 AC. • On your turn, when you use a bonus action to make a melee attack with the blade at the opposite end of the weapon, the weapon’s damage die for this attack increases to 2d4, instead of 1d4.
So it would be 1d4 and strength as per RAW without the feat.
Can someone clarify if the *damage* modifier applies to the 2nd, bonus attack? The Handbook is a bit vague, and since it refers to the “attack” it seems to imply the applied modifiers only apply to the Attack, not Damage roll for the bonus attack.

Ability modifier is added to damage. This is the norm for weapon attacks, so assume this unless it is otherwise specified.

Many thanks!
Now, at Level 5 when 2 attack actions become possible, how many total double-bladed scimitar attacks can you perform? I think it’s 3 total: 2 main attacks plus one bonus only, with the back end blade. Or is it 4: main and back, then main and back?

3 total attacks. Extra Attack only applies to the Attack action.

You don't know what fear is until you've witnessed a drunk bird divebombing you while carrying a screaming Kobold throwing fire anywhere and everywhere.
But ir’s not the norm for a second strike. In two weapon fighting ... which is effectively the same ... unless you have the feat, you get no bonus to damage on the second strike. That said, in those situations you get the full weapon damage value, where with the DBS, you do not. It would have been simpler if they wrote it up as a versatile, like it’s progenitor the quarter staff, and then applied the bonus strike to both. The only difference being bludgeoning vs. slashing, like so many other weapon matches.

Two-weapon fighting specifically says you don’t add your ability modifier to damage. The double-bladed scimitar doesn’t. It’s more akin to Polearm Master. Regardless, you DO add your ability modifier to damage, because the rules say you always do unless something states otherwise.
The DBS can’t be versatile; versatile and two-handed are mutually exclusive. I can’t really follow what your point there is, but it’s 3AM so I doubt it’s your fault.

Thanks, that's what I thought it was but wanted confirmation before I allowed my player's access to them

It's worth noting that, if any of your players choose to take the Revenant Blade feat, then they should add and equip the Revenant Double-Bladed Scimitar to gain the benefits.

Nothing has changed from my previous post above.
The Revenant Blade weapon is modelled using the magical item tools, but that doesn't make it a magical weapon.

What attribute would you use for attacking with the DB Scimitar? Strength or Dexterity?
It is STR unless you have Revanent blade feat.
As per the Feat: Revenant Blade
Prerequisite: Elf
You are descended from a master of the double blade and their skills have passed on to you. You gain the following benefits:
• Increase your Dexterity or Strength score by 1, to a maximum of 20.
