The mobile feat states "when you make a melee attack against a creature, you don't provoke opportunity attacks from the creature for the rest of the turn, whether you hit or not"
Say i have 60ft of movement. could i move 30ft into base contact with a foe, hit them, then carry on moving another 30ft or move back to my original position? am i right in saying it basically gives you a disengage action without using an action or bonus action?
Im playing a monk- way of the shadow so a hit and run style would work well i believe!
Yes, it pretty much gives you a free disengage, even more fun as the Monk because you can attack one foe, run to another and Flurry of Blows, then run behind cover all while not provoking OAs (edit) from the ones you've attacked.
The equivalent of a free disengage indeed, but only against creatures you attack in melee, mind. If your target has friends nearby, they may still put a curb to your movement.

Even better: you don't need to hit them, just attack them.
The Mobile feat is certainly incredibly useful for the hit-and-run style Monk's sort of rely on. They're not great up close and personal or rather not great staying up close and personal so being able to attack and run out of melee is very handy - especially given the Monk's movement speed. And because you don't have to disengage you can Flurry of Blows to your heart's content.
Luke, you can destroy the Emperor. He has foreseen this. It is your destiny. Join me, and together, we can rule the galaxy as father and son! Come with me. It is the only way.
