Having recently purchased it, was anyone a little surprised that the player character race of the minotaur does not have darkvision?
The monster manual version does have it and of course, notwithstanding, the obvious reference to Greek mythology...they gotta be good at mazes for a reason, right? :P
The Ravnica minotaur are not the same as the minotaur in the forgotten realms. most minotaur are red cards in Magic the Gathering lore, so most live in mountains and canyons, all of which have the same amount of sunlight as a regular town.
HERE is a link to a google image search for "Minotaur Magic the Gathering" which shows the imagery used on the cards, which show sunlight in almost every one.
I believe the UA minotaurs did not have darkvision either. Seems kind of weird. The minotaur in our campaign uses the UA rules and he was the only one in the party who couldn't see in the dark. After a while, I just got tired of dealing with it and he found a ring of darkvision :p

Oooh, ok, now I understand!
Yeah, it's also the reason why the ravnica centaurs are fey.
You can homebrew a more forgotten realms version if you want (more similar to how the UA versions were maybe).
