The text for Halfling Nimbleness doesn't say anything about other creatures not being able to make Attacks Of Opportunity against you, so I imagine the normal rules for AoO's still apply. When you leave their reach, they can take a swipe.
You only provoke an attack of opportunity when you leave someone’s threatened area. The smallest size category that works with halfling nimbleness, medium, threatens at least the adjacent squares, which are obviously unoccupied by that creature, so there’s no way for them to get an AoO while the halfling is making use of the racial trait.
Any creature can move through another non hostile creature's space, counting that space as difficult terrain. Any creature can move through a hostile creature's space IF there are 2 size differences between the two of you AND that space counts as difficult terrain.
Halfling Nimbleness only requires 1 size in difference.
While the halfling moves through the creature's space? No AoO.
If the halfling moves through the creature and then exits their attack range on the other side? Yes, normal AoO.
Read the rules in the DMG. What I posted is there, it's not just my opinion. I forgot to link, very few things allow opportunity attacks before a creature attempts to move out of reach.
I don't recall disagreeing with you. My response to the original question was that you cannot use an Attack of Opportunity when a halfling moves into/through your space, but also that a halfling using their nimbleness does not make them immune to normal Attacks of Opportunity.
And this is why I am asking! I could not find a definitive statement or ruling. If there is one in the DMG that would be awesome to be pointed to.....
There is no need for a definitive statement or ruling. The rules are 100% clear. You trigger Opportunity Attacks when you leave a hostile creature's reach. A halfling moving through a Medium, or larger, creature's space is not leaving their reach, at least not while it's moving through. At another point during its move, it might leave the hostile creature's reach, either before or after moving through their space. At that point, an Opportunity Attack would be triggered, but at that point, their Halfling Nimbless trait is irrelevant.
And this is why I am asking! I could not find a definitive statement or ruling. If there is one in the DMG that would be awesome to be pointed to.....
And the answer is that nothing in the rule for Halfling Nimbleness changes the conditions for when an Attack Of Opportunity gets triggered. The act of moving from 1) a space within the creature's reach to 2) the space the creature is occupying to 3) a space within the creature's reach does not trigger the normal conditions for an Opportunity Attack. Are you thinking it does? I'm genuinely curious here.

Indeed, the area that is your "reach" is a 5 foot circle around you but it also includes your own space. You can always reach your own space. Several creatures attack by entering your space, and while they are there you are able to attack them because they are in reach. Thus, entering an enemy's space can never trigger an AoO from that enemy.
It’s only after you leave the 5’ reach of an opponent that you normally provoke an opportunity attack. If you just want to flank on the opposite side by rolling under them it’s a freebie. If you want to run past them make a stealth roll while under them (because their vision is obscured by their own body and they lose track of you as you do the halfling nutmeg) and if you beat their passive perception you leave out the other side undetected (unseen or invisible never provoke attacks of opportunity).

When using Halfling nimbleness and moving through the space of a creature, does the creature get an opportunity attack on the Halfling?

I think that Opportunity Attacks apply normally.
