The wording of Magic Initiate is pretty clear. “Choose a class” is so that non spell casters can have a couple of spells and so that spell casters can pick up a couple of spells from another class. If you’re limited to your existing class it’s pretty useless to me, but a few thousand people disagree with me.
i have a druid and the magic initiate sorcerer feat does that allow me to pick sorcerer spell for my druid
The spells you choose for the feat come from the Sorcerer list. You cast them using Charisma as your spellcasting ability, not Wisdom, as they are still "Sorcerer Spells"(Contrast this with Tome Warlocks, their text explicitly says they are considered Warlock cantrips no matter which class' list you select them from). You do NOT have full access to the Sorcerer list for all your other spells, you're still a Druid.

And the Sorcerer spell you know from the feat cannot be cast using your Druid spell slots. It can only be cast once per day using the feat.
If you choose Magic Initiate and match the feat class to your actual class, then the spell from the feat can also be prepared and cast using slots.

You pick the spells in the feat.
So I can play as a Druid and use the spells in the feat even if it’s in a different class
Yes.

Note that Charisma is your spellcasting ability for those spells however.
