I currently have in my possession a build that does 1d4+24 per hit with a whip, even before you start adding in other smites and bonus dice. yes, they stack, if you can find a DM willing to allow you to play an Oathbreaker.
all you need is a minimum of 13 strength, and 20 Charisma. Where you put the rest of the points to flesh out your priorities is up to you.
Warlock (Hexblade) 1: Hex Warrior (use CHA for attack and damage with your hex warrior weapon) (+5 to damage)
Warlock (Hexblade) 1: Hexblade's curse (add +Prof bonus to damage against hexed targets) (+2-6 to damage)
Warlock (Pact of the Blade) 3: Improved Pact Weapon (+1 to damage)
Warlock (Pact of the Blade) 12: Lifedrinker (+5 to damage)
Paladin 2: Duelist Fighting Style (+2 to damage)
Paladin 7: Aura of Hate (+5 to damage)
That adds up to +24 damage right there at 19, two attacks per attack action, crits on 19-20, without mentioning any other smites etc. that might be added.
Dropping the Warlock 12 +5 damage to take more levels of Paladin (for more smites) or Fighter (for action surge) or Rogue (for sneak attack) actually increases the damage per round quite a bit, but I believe that this is the best flat modifier to damage rolls that you can get to with a build.
You are aware that you only need to be level 12 for lifedrinker right not 12 into warlock. The invocations that you need to be certain levels in warlock actually state it such as protection of the talisman, undying servitude, gift of the protectors, far scribe, and bonds of the talisman. so technically you could be 9 pally and 3 warlock with path of the blade to get both already.

That is incorrect.
If an eldritch invocation has prerequisites, you must meet them to learn it. You can learn the invocation at the same time that you meet its prerequisites. A level prerequisite refers to your level in this class.
Lifedrinker
Prerequisite: 12th level, Pact of the Blade feature
When you hit a creature with your pact weapon, the creature takes extra necrotic damage equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum 1).
Do they stack?
There is no rule that'd stop them from stacking.

I'm going to make this way harder than it needs to be.
It's because it's not shown at the sheet here
Yes, dndbeyond falls a little flat on that, I reported it a year or so ago in a bug thread but they took no action.
