So I've been DMing for a long time, and I have loads of character ideas I'm not sure how to implement. One of these is Celeste, an elf treasure hunter who found a jade spider pendant in one of Lolth's temples in the Underdark. However, the pendant had a horrid curse that changed her into a Drider. Her reason for adventuring is a search for a cure, or at least some sunglasses.
It was fun coming up with this character, but I'm stuck on how to implement a 1st-level Drider character. Does anyone have an idea of how I should do this?

If you want something more indepth, I'd start with centaur, remove that fey bit. Remove the penalty for climbing, and the charging ability. Add 30ft climb, once per day web spells, and a 1d4 unarmed strike.

Done.
I would also swap out the extra skill proficiency for darkvision, but otherwise that seems pretty balanced to me.
Edit: Also websense (I think that's what it's called, basically you can sense the presence of anything moving on a web you're standing on) and advantage on saves against web spells and effects, which would be very niche but good flavor.

Thank you all so much for the amazing help! Because of you, Celeste can now make her way into an actual campaign!
