After reading this thread I'm going to make a point of creating a party called the Blues Brothers. I'd like the idea to revolve around a paladin that wears blue heraldry that saved the party's bacon once early and as a show of appreciation they began buying blue clothing in a sort of signal that "I'm with him" vibe. Since I like to play Bards, that would make me the "front man" for the Blues Brothers, and who wouldn't want that gig?
None of my groups have ever had a name that I recall
Same.
We always, 100% of the time, named our Superhero teams in games like Champions. But in fantasy RPGs, whether D&D or Rolemaster or what have you, we always just called them "the party" or "our characters" since, there was only ever one such group at a time, so there was no question who we were talking about.
I mean, with Superheroes you kind of have to - it is a tradition of the genre. But with fantasy, other than "the Fellowship of the Ring," you didn't often get parties (frequently, fantasy authors just call the group of characters going on a quest things like "the company" or "the companions" or "the quest"). So it never occurred to us.
We generally didn't name our campaigns, either. We named adventures, because that tradition was there (module names like "Secret of Bone Hill," or "Keep on the Borderlands") and we named Champions story arcs, because, again, the precedent was there ("the Great Darkness Saga," "The Dark Phoenix Saga" and so on). But campaigns... we just called them "the campaign" or "the D&D campaign" most of the time.

WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
This reminds me of the Puffin Forest video where his group is named the Turtle Friends, but previously went by a different name, which I will not say since I have no idea if profanity is allowed here
Oh, the Turtle ******s!
Puffin For(r)ests' videos are the best.

Please check out my homebrew, I would appreciate feedback:
Aiden Xistsrith - half-elf, guild artisan, wild magic sorcerer- is a member of an adventuring group called the Knights of Krom, but publicly known as the Night Crows. We are more or less the "chosen ones" in a prophecy that we don't 100% know the details of yet.
Krom was a champion of Taralux, goddess of the sun, who died many years ago. His order, the Knights of Krom, were a sort of secret society that have also been dead and/or gone for many years. Prior to Aiden's arrival, the party found Krom's personal weapon (now wielded by the party cleric), were magically bestowed amulets with Tara/Krom's holy symbol/seal, a sunburst, and told they were now the new Knights of Krom, but could not reveal this to anyone.
When Aiden joined the group, a new amulet was magically bestowed to the party that was exactly the same as all the others with one exception: inside the sunburst was a crescent moon; the holy symbol of Selûne, goddess of the moon, Taralux's wife. The reasons for this change/exception are still unknown.
Since we cannot reveal ourselves as the Knights of Krom and the city were are currently in requires adventuring groups to be members of the adventurers' guild to legally be allowed to accepted quests, we settled on the name Night Crows for the sake of guild membership.

My group has been arguing about our name for a while, and the best we got was "The Soon to be unconscious group" because in all of our major battles most of us go unconscious (It's rather annoying when your fighting a green dragon).
We call ourselves the Aegis Arcana, because a number of us are sorcerers and we work for a group called the Aegis. I even designed a flag for us! We're also working on a mystery that involves magic stealing crystals.
I’m the DM for a party that calls themselves the Pog Squad. This is because it was suggested that they call the poor people of the city they’re starting a revolution in “poggers.”
I think one of the most memorable naming of the party moments that my D&D group did was from one of our 4e campaigns. We early on declared ourselves the Electric Slide. This was primarily due to our group going all in on the various ways you can push, pull and slide opponents and allies in combat combined with the abundance of lightning damaging powers we had.
At certain points we joked about our party’s name evolving due to certain memorable moments. We managed to slide one enemy down an entire flight of stairs during one combat. The idea of it was so funny and ridiculous that one of the players proclaimed we had upgraded to the Electric Escalators.
Later on, we managed to somehow, in a beautiful display of creativity and dumb luck, snare a wizard with some rope and then processes to drop him several stories, killing him. That’s how we were promoted to the rank of the Electric Elevators.
By the time we got to the BBEG, we were teleporting enemies and ourselves everywhere, and had mastered controlling the battlefield, and we joked that we had achieved the highest rank of the Electric Teleporters.

"The Critical Misses" because all but one of our characters is female and we absolutely suck at rolling
May your rolls be crits and your sessions be frequent
That would be a good name for a D&D livestream as well.

As to why, well, we were in Phandalin, and the person introducing us forgot to count themselves.
