This is actually a major point of contension between Earth and Orpheus--especially in the country of Thessimede where the two worlds converge. The Orpheans have many magical equivalents to human technology, and for the most part it has remained functionally superior to most human innovations, but as the decades have gone on, technology and science have exponentially gotten more and more advanced and efficient, and as the years go on, it threatens to surpass and maybe even replace the Orphean way of life completely. This terrifies the people of Orpheus. What will the humans do as soon as they have outgrown magic?

Question
In your universe can an arcane caster Charm a person she’s chatting with online or by text without voice or video?
The Internet does not exist yet in the Cardinal Planes, but in theory when it does, a technomancer could probably infuse magic into text displays if they knew how to.
There are most likely magical equivalents to the Internet. Even the telegraph system had many uncanny parallels to the Internet; the operators even had equivalents to emoticons, slang, and online gaming.
To be honest that's not entirely necessary with the Freebooter Program, which more or less allows people to live D&D. Have you ever read The Dark Lord of Derkholm by Diana Wynn Jones?
This still sounds really cool. If I weren’t super busy I’d love to read it.
