There are a number of issues with Prismatic Wall for sustaining this damage. Becoming Petrified from the Indigo layer is the least concerning as it requires three failed saves that are checked at the end of the creature's turn. If the creature fails three times before succeeding three times, it becomes Petrified which only means it takes half of obscene damage.
More problematic for multi-round damage is the Violet layer. On one failed save at the start of your next turn, it teleports the creature to a different plane of existence.
Since this is damage during a single round, those two layers don't really matter.
I believe the damage assumes the target failed all their saves. However, if the damage is normalized, then the Restrained would increase the damage by imposing disadvantage on all the saving throws.

kind of hard to argue that they don't make the save multiple times if they get draged through multiple times.

Usually this is explicit, but the trend is that the save would only be made once. I don't think anyone anticipated playing prismatic ping pong.
You would need to about a thousand saves for the laps made through the first 5 layers. Again, I think your damage was assuming they failed every save.
It would still be enough to kill any monster regardless of saves.
Definitely. Particularly considering that after the first pass, they will have disadvantage on all of their saves. I think the 65% success rate still applies to spells with saves (meaning that the enemy will fail 65% of the time) so the first pass would be at 65% average damage and the rest would be at 88% average damage.
That would mean that they have to make the save hundreds of times at the end of its turn
No, because combining spell effects applies. Not that this has much chance of being relevant, as only a creature that is immune to all of acid, cold, fire, lightning, and poison (which I think describes precisely one monster: Tiamat/Aspect of Tiamat) can survive.

Technically that is not relevant since Tiamat, or her Aspect, would not be eligible to be grappled.

No, those rules don't, as they only apply if the target is affected by two different versions of the spell
The events are taking place in a Wild Magic Zone and casting a spell with a spell slot results in a 20 followed by a 53-56 giving us another action when helpful.
Base Build: Tabaxi, Level 18 Bladesong Wizard / 2 Monk. Feats: Mark of Passage (House Orien Heir), Speedy (4), Charger (8), Magic Initiate (Longstrider - 12), 16, Boon of Speed (30k Exp after 20).
Base Speed: 30 + 5 (Mark of Passage) + 10 (Speedy) + 10 (Monk) + 30 (Boon of Speed) = 85 Speed.
Wild Surge Action cast Longstrider without a spell slot. (Speed 210)
Longstrider is adding 10 to Speed before being multiplied by 4 for Feline Agility (see below) and Haste.
Haste Action: Grapple opponent. (Grappler would normally allow us to punch and grapple the enemy but we are not allowed to deal damage during the prep round)
We can't maximize the damage via Wild Magic so we have to take the average damage: 42 + 42 + 42 + 42 + 42 = 210 damage per trip through the wall.
This assumes every save is failed. If we wanted to normalize the damage for saving throw chances, the damage for the first trip would be 65% and the remaining trips would be about 88%. Because we are making so many trips, we can consider the normalized damage to be about 185 per trip.
Wild Magic Action Dash (Movement + 460)
Charger is adding 10 to Speed before being multiplied by 4 for Feline Agility and Haste for a total Speed of 460
Bonus Action Step of the Wind (Movement + 460)
Haste Action Dash (Movement + 460)
At this point, the total Movement is 420 + 460 + 460 + 460 = 1,800 feet
Move back and forth between both sides of the wall 1,800 / 5 = 360 times.
Average Damage is 75,600 damage
Normalized Damage is 66,528 damage
Wow. Look what the cat dragged in indeed. The level 16 feat slot is still available and there may be other options to increase the speed and thus increase the damage.
So in other words, the DM thought your idea was cool, since no part of that is RAW legal.

Why resistance to all damage?

Becoming petrified would do that. However, the petrified condition from a prismatic wall is delayed so it wouldn't be relevant for damage taken.
Yay!

Look at one of the rules,
So, let's say this is one of the creatures that can't be moved outside of the material plane, rendering the last layer ineffective

Petrified?
No, the spell says that they make the save against petrified again at the start of there next turn or something like that

It needs to fail its end of turn save, failed saves for passing through the wall don't have any effect beyond starting the process.
That would mean that they have to make the save hundreds of times at the end of its turn

maybe go 3 monk and use the 16th feat for the boon of speed instead.
