Can you use this spell to create a spellbook for 1 day which is a copy of your own spellbook and then hand it over to a simulacrum you created so it can cast your spells?
Can you use this spell to create a spellbook for 1 day which is a copy of your own spellbook and then hand it over to a simulacrum you created so it can cast your spells?
1. Yes.
2. It's pointless. You can do this with minor illusion, a cantrip, or just use your own spellbook. Your simulacrum can also just use minor illusion or your spellbook too. So, it's a big waste of a 5th level spell slot.

Isn't casting from a spellbook requireing you to posses a real spellbook? The use of minor illusion to create an illusionary spellbook sounds a bit like using minor illusion out of intended usecase.
Mhh, i guess you are right after all by saying "huge waste of 5th level slot" since the clone can just use a normal arcane focus to cast, which you can simply hand over after creating it.

I... uh... a lot to unpack here.
In the general case, spellbooks are not arcane foci.
A wizard's simulacrum does not need your spellbook to cast spells. It needs its own spellbook (yours won't work, for Reasons) to change what spells it has prepared.
A freshly made one has the same spells prepared as the target of the spell, which for this situation is apparently the wizard themselves.
You could use Creation to make a blank spellbook for your simulacrum, but it would have to copy it in itself. For the same Reasons your spellbook won't work for it.
You could also use it to copy your spellbook. This would work for your simulacrum like any spellbook not its own - it could use it as a spell source for copying into its own spellbook.
The simulacrum can cast spells perfectly well. It can't regenerate spell slots.

You don't need a spellbook to cast spells, only to prepare them, unless casting as a ritual. And you don't prepare cantrips.
All you need for preparing spells as a wizard is to read and focus on the pages in your spellbook. You can certainly create the static pages of the book using minor illusion. It'll be slower, but you can do it no problem. Once prepared you don't need your spellbook again until you want to change the spells you have prepared, cast a spell as a ritual or scribe a new spell.
Your sim can prepare from the book just as you can. Again, they don't need the spellbook for casting, except for casting as rituals. They only need an arcane focus, or component pouch, if the spell has material components. For spells that don't require a material component you don't need any kind of arcane focus - and they're cheap enough anyway, the most expensive arcane focus is only 10 gold so they should be very easy to obtain and nothing says you can't make one yourself - DMG and XGTE have crafting rules.

The thing is that 1 minute equals ten rounds in actual combat. Also in Twoshorts version, the Block slowly begins to form (wich would be the most reasonable explanation), so it would be very obvious if you don't perform a MAJOR distraction for the enemies. As soon as the shadow appears they would tend to look up and then its probably over. I don't say it's impossible, just highly unlikely.
Dropping mass on someone is almost never an effective attack. No DM worth his dice will let it be more effective than a spell of the same level. Expect both an attack roll AND a Dex save.
When it comes to creating things, check the prices for mundane items and you see an instant stand out - POISON.
The best attack I have seen with Creation is creating a 5x5 cube of poison. Torpor an army's food makes for a nasty combo with a midnight attack.
Why are non precious metals not listed separately?
The writers could have placed an entry in like. Brass, Bronze, Iron, and Steel lasts 6 hours.
Partly because stone will work generally as well as brass or bronze for most cases, while probably Iron and definitely Steel would have been considered precious metals in any medieval time.
Create a 5x5 block of ironwood centered on your opponent’s head. Not only suffocation but at 66 lbs per cubic foot and 125 cubic feet that’s 3.75 tons of weight.
In the morning cast Creation to make yourself a cloak, hat, something made out of plant matter and which doesn’t already have an occupied item slot.
During your adventuring day, use Malleable Illusions to turn your item into whatever you need; cover, a bridge, rope, a block of stone to block a passage, whatever. As this isn’t casting, you can potentially cast a spell in the same turn.
Just to remind people you need to have seen the object before to create it. You can only make "tungsten bananas" if you've seen a tungsten banana before.

The exact words are "of a form and material you've seen before", so I'd allow a tungsten banana so long as the character can plausibly have encountered both separately. Otherwise seems a bit too limited if you can only create exact objects you've already seen.
Dropping a 5x5x5 lead cube on an enemy from 30 feet.
sure, if they'll stand still for a minute.
This is just a way to creatively solve problems. In my world you could rip of merchants with this about twice until you lost trading priveleges and got on a list of crooks.
My illusionist casts Creation every morning and makes himself a cloak. Then, if he ever needs anything, he can use Malleable Illusion on it to create whatever he needs in a hury.
In theory, he could make a paper airplane, throw it so it flies over his enemy's head, and turn it into a 5'x5'x5' block of lead over his enemy's head.
In practice, no GM in their right mind is ever going to permit that.
But, it is useful to create a barrel that my character climbs into for cover. It is common for low-level wizards to create an illusion of such a barrel to take cover inside. So, when they see my character create such a barrel, they might think it is an illusion and waste time disbelieving it.

My question with this spell is

I was more concerned with items that lasted between 1 hour and 12 hours.
Copper, Bronze or brass, and Iron would fit this nicely. True steel would or could be a precious metal.

Can this create bananas? I'm serious, I need to make tungsten bananas and super big bananas for a banana magic weapon
Actually be the looks of it, yes
Whatever it creates only lasts for a limited period of time, so depending on why exactly you need particular items it might or might not help you.
Thanks, all it needs to do is drop on someone
