This is literally all I want out of D&D Beyond. All the UA info in once place. Everything else is a bonus.
Considering WotC default won't let fans compile that information in one place without a copyright takedown notice, it'd be ridiculous if they didn't let an officially licensed product utilize UA stuff for the homebrew section.
UA stuff is confirmed in. Now whether we'll get to see any of it in the beta is another question. It 'might' be the first thing to populate the homebrew section in phase 3 though.
I wasn't sure since they classified it as playtest if certain mechanics were to be changed in the final adaptation. If say they received feedback that a mechanic was over powered etc...
All they have to do is include all the AU races/classes and just slap a AU sticker in the corner of the image that references that this is playtest material. Then, when they decide to move something from AU to canon they can just remove the sticker. I would love to have all the AU characters in one place. Also, this may mean they can revisit my favorite race the Warforged.

Can I add a few things?
First, would love to see a "settings parameter" for which UA is allowed. For example, not all UA is approved for inclusion in my campaign. Would love to say that these 6 are available for options when creating characters or encounters, but exclude some content.
Second, warning, need to manage in UA what is current and what is superceded. For example, there are three UA versions of mystic. how will this work?
Third, would be nice to see stats pulled and feedback integrated. UA is playtest, and it would be nice to let WotC both pull stats on what is being used, an let us submit feedback within the tool.
Finally, this is playtest. We have had to tweak a few parts of UA in play to balance/fix. Does this mean its treated a homebrew that we can modify, track changes, etc.?

Those are awesome questions and suggestions of which we will have to wait to get answered. Rest assured that staff sees this and will take it all into account when the time comes!
I know there is going to be support for homebrew, but I wonder if UA updates will automatically get integrated here? If not, I would recommend a public workshop of sorts for sharing. Anyone else have thoughts on this?
The EE Player's Companion will certainly be added soon. We can't yet talk about the way that Unearthed Arcana will be incorporated, but I can confirm we intend to do so.
There you have it, everyone. Straight from the mou- I mean, Eye, himself.
EDIT: Oh, I see this information has already made it into this thread. Nevermind me, then!
I would love to see a UA book especially to make the new Ranger, Artificer and Mystic official.
I do hope they rework and polish the Artificer and Mystic to make publication if they do release a UA book this year.
UA definitely needs to be native on this app/site. I can't see a scenario where that would be a bad thing. It is for play testing, why not make it easy to play test?
Fingers crossed for PHB 2, Unearthed Arcana later this year.
Iirc, UA isn't Adventure League legal, but that's the only form of official that really matters anyway.
It's Only unofficial right now, but if they do release it in a PHB 2 sort of compendium, i'm sure it'll be AL legal.
They did it for 4e with PHB 2 and 3, so i don't see why not. It's not like they're scared of making money. Hell I dropped a bit extra on the Special Edition of Volo's when it came out. Can't be the only one who did.

Around the time of Volo's Guide they announced that they won't do exactly a PHB2, but mostly more stuff like VGM to bolster multiple parts of the game (in VGM's case, monsters and player races) at the same time to go with their (something like) 3-4 books a year release schedule. While a compendium fits the bill, I hope they release yet unseen content with it instead, sort of how they did in Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide (as mechanic-starved as that book was...) with Storm Sorcery and the Swashbuckler.

Mechanic-starved. That is the perfect term for the Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide. Thank you.

WotC is boxed in. One of the best things they did in 5e to allow new players to come in is PHB+1 rule. (I know its technically only AL, but it has become more standard).
Volo's, SCAG, and Xan's in November make that rule hard...
PHB2 and PHB3 make it impossible. That is why the WotC tweets have been consistent on that.
And then, if they combine some from each into a new "Master" resource, EVERYONE will complain about paying again for the same stuff.
It is SIGNIFICANTLY different for a new player to go into a store and need 40+ books for 3.5/Pathfinder or 4e or one book for 5e. The number of new players, both the big statistics, and what I personally see is that the 5e PHB +1 is a MUCH better system.
I know everyone wants new content, but the best things might be to stay with "optional" pdf's (UA today), with better rules and ratings on what is pre-playtest, post-playtest, balanced for multi-class, legal for AL, etc...
Last thought -- I know many will disagree. Look at the 9,999,999 page thread on pricing for DnD Beyond. I pitty the poor DM or player that has to pay for 20 books instead of 3-5... Take a DEEP breath and think about that over the whole community of 5e and not just your table.... PLEASE PLEASE do it! :)

Can we get a link to the "confirmed inclusion of the UA"?
You can safely say UA content is 5th edition content:

Thanks but is U A official?
Of course. It's created/released by WotC.

And that's why I feel it'll be in the homebrew phase. That's just my guess. I KNOW that they want to include it though.

oops, it's hard to read via phone, glad to hear it's included, how much beyond will cost though that's another matter
