So, I know nothing about Eberron. When I see the Kalashtar’s lore and it’s Ability Scores, I struggle to find a good class for them. Their quori lore seems like it would make a cool Warlock, but doesn’t make me think they’d Pact up with any of the currently available Patrons. Their weird heritage also rules out a lot of available Sorcerer bloodlines.I could feasibly see Ranger as an option. Blood Hunter *could* work, but it requires so many other stats.
Am I missing something? What’s a good combo for them besides home-brewing some quori bloodlines and patrons?
Their stat spread is +1 CHA & WIS, with +1 to any other ability score.
That makes them good at almost every caster or half caster: Cleric, Druid, Warlock, Sorcerer, Bard, Paladin, or Ranger. (also Blood Hunter). Dual Mind is very helpful for resistanting mind influence effects. Mind Link is create for a (Moon) Druid to communicate while in WildShape, as it's a souped up Old One's Warlock's Awakened Mind Mink Link is create for a Rogue to communicate silently. Especially for a Swash Buckler. Put that last +1 into Dex, you have +1 to hit/damage, Perception, and Pyschic Glamour into her Persuasion. Similar build for a Dex/Ranger, just CHA isn't as important. I'd probably make it 9, so the +1 gives you a 10. You could put the +1 into STR and have a pretty all around good Paladin. Very resistant to mind influencing powers.
I see that. Especially with their emphasis on mental discipline and how some could be more meditative while others are more combative. Any of the subclasses work, but I still think a Psionic Sub-Class would be perfect.

Just thought I'd point out, it's +1 to any ability score, not "any other ability score" like Half-Elves. That means it can be used in Charisma or Wisdom. That makes Kalashtar a solid option for Bard (permanent advantage on Persuasion almost seems broken in some campaigns), as well as being one of the only races with access to +2 to Wisdom, making Druid or Cleric really appealing.
In Eberron 3.5 the Kalashtar were mainly psionic in nature as psionics had a lot to do with the Quori and Dal Quor. In fact, most Kalashtar came to Khorvaire from the continent of Sarlona to escape persecution from The Inspired which are basically individuals possessed by evil Quori and are universally powerful psionists.
Since psionics have not been officially released for 5e I would think any class would be fine. Probably monk, life cleric, devotion paladin and wizard being the most fitting with their racial background. A warlock would also be cool and fitting. I would think you could go with Archfey, Celestial or Great Old One and say your Quori spirit is your patron. Of course, your DM might have an opinion on this. Especially if he/she is familiar with the Eberron campaign setting.
They could make a decent Totem barbarian. While there is little direct use for the Charisma bonus, the Totem Barbarian does make use of some Wisdom abilities. And, 100% resistances while raging effectively doubles your hitpoints with (almost) no way to bypass it. As well, class and race both deal with spiritual connections.
Totem Spirit - 3rd level Bear
While raging, you have resistance to all damage except psychic damage.
I have just currently started a campaign with a Kalashtar Blood Hunter and so far I’m loving it! The +1 wisdom helps a lot with Curse of the Eyeless and a lot of the other blood maledicts.

"Every kalashtar has a connection to a spirit of light, shared by other members of their bloodline." Definitely sounds like either a Celestial Warlock or a Divine Soul Sorcerer to me.
"The kalashtar can’t directly communicate with their quori spirits. A kalashtar might experience this relationship as a sense of instinct and inspiration, drawing on the memories of the spirit when they dream." Circle of Dreams Druid, maybe Circle of the Shepherd. Even a hint of barbarian, either Path of the Totem Warrior or Path of the Ancestral Guardian.
"Many kalashtar defend themselves from the Dreaming Dark by focusing on devotion to the Path of Light but some among the kalashtar seek out the agents of the Dreaming Dark and oppose their plans, or protect the innocent however they can." Light Domain Cleric, paladin of almost any Oath already available, perhaps even Gloom Stalker Ranger.
"Some kalashtar grow up isolated from others, knowing nothing about Dal Quor or the Dreaming Dark. Such orphans may use their abilities for personal gain or otherwise act against the virtuous instincts of their quori spirits; this can cause internal conflicts and violent mood swings." College of Whispers Bard, Mastermind Rogue.
I made my kalashtar a normal human at the beginning of my campaign but then i made a deal with a unknown woman and turned out to be a kalashtar who wanted to get rid of her qwori for 2,000 gold peices. Of course i took up the deal at the time my group was looking around (we were in a shady tavern) so the woman asked me to sign a contract, i did and she began to float her eyes turned black the whole place was shaking and then her qwori emerged. The dm described it as my soul was torn in 2 and one half was mine the other was the qworis from then on i was a kalashtar and that's how i became a druid/warlock
They make interesting artificres. While they don't get INT buffs they hav an interesting interaction with the Homuculus. Normally the Culus can't talk so they don't make great scouts because they can't report back, and you can't see through their eyes like familiars. But, it can understand your languges. So with the Kalasthar's telepathy (limited range) you can actually communicate with it.
Sooo it actually gets you some nice utility from it,
Thread necromancy is awful around this place. I've never seen so much of it as I have here on DDB. Hell, any given class forum front page is basically nothing but threads started in the eighteen hundreds. I have no idea why so many DDB users have such a rampant fetish for necrophilia, but ye gods it bothers the shit out of me. There's not even any point in commenting in a thread like this one; it isn't even relevant anymore. Kalashtar got changed around so their Mind Link is nearly useless and their floating attribute point was taken away from them; +2 WIS is rare but it's not as cool as +1WIS/CHA and +1 Whatever. Make them any WIS-centric caster and they're fine.

I think its more frequent in thos one. because their search forum method isn't as efficient or user friendly as other simliar places. While it does list time stamps. They're not as easily noticed unless you are actively looking for them. It just happens to fall into the older style forums while most modern users are likely coming from social media or perhaps reddit. Which have a different methodlogy in layout.

So i made a kalashtar bard college of wispers, do you think that mind link would work with words of terror or is that a strictly verbal thing?

They seem custom made for celestial warlock to me.

Ugh.
Why you shouldn't start ANOTHER thread about DDB not giving away free redeems on your hardcopy book purchases.
Thinking of starting ANOTHER thread asking why Epic Boons haven't been implemented? Read this first to learn why you shouldn't!
... who hurt you?
A necromancer.

It is only necromancy if it doesn't add anything to the thread. Otherwise, it is revivification.
It does suck that Kalashtar got screwed in ER:FLW, but they are still pretty good druids and clerics.
A Kalashtar Horizon Walker would be cool.

They are great for Clerics. (Obviously).
Druids, Clerics, Rangers, Paladins, they're all good at these.
