Maybe you weren't expecting the little white envelope. Maybe you were. Maybe you had no idea what would be inside. Or, maybe you knew exactly what would be coming your way- an invite to the House of Cato, as reward for your great services towards spreading Evil throughout the worlds. But either way, you heeded the invitation, and here you are. At a party hosted by a man with many names, but one who goes by the name of Cato. The embodiment of Evil himself.
As you step over the threshold, you may feel a chill go down your spine. Not that there is anything overtly wrong with where you are. The room is decorated in a minimalist style, with a white marble floor, white walls, a white table, white furniture, you get the idea. Only a few tasteful splashes of red break up the monochrome. Upon the table is a magnificent feast, with food from many worlds. And around you are the other guests, and at the end of the room, a man in a white tuxedo with red aviator sunglasses. Your host for the night, Mr J. Cato.
And what a night it is. A night of pleasant chatter and deep conversations, a night of dreaming and scheming, a night of endless luxury where the blood wine never stops flowing. You feel calm and excited, finally surrounded by like-minded individuals who share your ambitions and drives.
That is, until, Cato stands up and makes an announcement. ‘Good evening, my companions. I hope you are enjoying yourselves in my not-so-humble abode. It has fallen upon me, however, to be the bearer of some, how shall I put it, less than brilliant news. This House has been infiltrated by some old enemies of mine, who seek to have us all killed and this place destroyed. I must admit, my first thought was to pump the place full with poison gas to be on the safe side, but then I thought, where’s the fun in that? You are all capable, rational people, with more than enough ruthlessness to do what needs to be done. Perhaps you can eradicate these vile Scum for me? After all, it’s not like you have a choice- if you do not kill them, then they will kill you first.’
Cato gets up and walks to the exit, a devilish smile on his face. He flicks a switch, locking you all, both guests and Scum, in the House.
‘Good luck, and I hope you enjoy the game’.
House Roles
Torturer- Once per night, you may deliver a brutal onslaught to any person you suspect of being Scum, removing their additional ability permanently (they can kill but not charm, eavesdrop, or infect). This affects House roles as well as Scum though, so be careful not to torture your own side, lest you lose them important abilities.
Poisoner- You can administer a paralysing poison to anyone in the House, rendering them unable to take actions during the night.
Kezzolan the Betrayer (Detective)- You have been keeping a close eye on the proceedings. Once per night, you may learn the role of another guest.
Lonely (Doctor)- Each night, you can pick a person to isolate from the rest of the other players. They are protected from being killed, recruited, and infected, and if they were already infected, their infection is removed.
Assassin (Vigilante)- Each night, you can choose to kill someone who you believe is Scum.
House Guest (Vanilla Townie)- Your job is simple- try and figure out who is Scum, and hopefully stay alive.
Neutral
Punisher (Jester)- This House is Evil, and it is on you to take it down. But no victory can exist without self-sacrifice- to destroy the House of Cato, you must be killed by its members.
Scum
*Bard*- Your charisma, honed from years as a bard, allows you to influence the minds of the other guests and hopefully turn them from their evil ways. Once per game, you may recruit a member of the House to join the Scum as a Convert. You cannot recruit and kill in the same night.
Flint- Sneaking through the secret passages of the House of Cato at night, you can easily eavesdrop on unwitting guests and learn their roles. You cannot kill and eavesdrop in the same night. However, if your target has already been infected with the Vile Plague, they show up as Scum and you are unable to discern their true role.
*Plague Spreader*- Once per night, you can Infect a member of the House with the Vile Plague. You cannot both Infect and carry out the kill in the same night. Those carrying the Vile Plague have been known to act, look, and smell weirdly… suspicious. When plague-carriers are investigated by Kezzolan, they show up as Scum. However, if they are killed by the Assassin, their true role is revealed, and they die if Tortured.
Convert- With the help of *the Bard*, you saw through the polished façade of the House of Cato to the true horror it represents, and you are set upon bringing it down. You may be given an additional ability. However, your soul is bonded to his- if he dies, you die too.
That's great! Of course you can partake in the game! As for characters, the roles will be assigned randomly but you are free to embellish them with rp.
Okie-dokes then, mafia six! I've only participated in three, counting this one, but i'm doin' it!

Hi! I'm EJO. I am a silly billy who forgets to play Genshin Impact every day totally DOESN'T simp for at least three different ninja girls. Some other facts about me:
I main Milio in League of Legends, and therefore have extreme anxiety whenever my glass cannon Vayne main teammate charges at the enemy while I'm at the spawn zone.
My average accuracy in Marvel Rivals is about 19%.
If anyone says the words "Spider man lord" in my presence I will immediately lock myself in my room.
My titles are the great Silver Dragon Lord of the Sky, Second in Command of the Dragon Cult, High Warlock of Cynophobia, High Cultist of Jeff, The Lightning Mage. I’m a ✨Chronically online teenage boy✨, and one of the most active posters on the forums (MORE THAN SALEM AND GONZALO). Always open to talk if you’d like to shoot me a PM! Please don’t hesitate to tell me I’m being a jerk or overbearing, I love helpful feedback! Love y’all!
One feedback on the torturer, any turned mafia is going to know the others. So a successful torture is basically game over. Mafia relies on the duality of informed minority vs uninformed majority. Allowing it to becomes informed majority vs minority with such a conversion takes the dynamic away.

This affects House roles as well as Scum though, so be careful not to torture your own side, lest you lose them important abilities.
Poisoner- You can administer a paralysing poison to anyone in the House, rendering them unable to take actions during the night.
Fun!
Kezzolan the Nothic (Detective)- You have been keeping a close eye on the proceedings. Once per night, you may learn the role of another guest.
It’s cool to see my character here. Although, can we change the name from ‘Kezzolan the Nothic’ to, I dunno, Kezzolan the Betrayer? Or just Kezzolan?
(I don’t really have a reason for wanting this, I just don’t feel like ‘Kezzolan the Nothic’ fits.)

Neato. And good use of Flint.
*Plague Spreader*- Once per night, you can Infect a member of the House with the Vile Plague. You cannot both Infect and carry out the kill in the same night. Those carrying the Vile Plague have been known to act, look, and smell weirdly… suspicious. When plague-carriers are investigated by the Spy, they show up as Scum. However, if they are killed by the Assassin, their true role is revealed, and they die if Tortured.
Who’s the Spy? The Detective?
And also, is the plague effect permanent? Because if it is, and if this happens every night, it means that the Detective’s role will rapidly become less and less reliable. Between the real Mafia and jester (jester shows up as guilty in most games), almost everyone will be showing up as guilty when investigated.
Then again, that might be the way it’s intended. I dunno.
The spy has been changed to Kezzolan. The plague effect is permanent, with the intention of making everyone seem potentially guilty. However, if Lonely chooses to isolate someone in their role as Doctor, as well as protecting them from attack, then if they are plagued, then that plague is removed.

This sounds absolutely amazing! I would love to partake in this game, if possible, and I have a character that I think would fit the vibe wonderfully.
Former Spider Queen of the Spider Guild, and friendly neighborhood scheming creature.
"Made by spiders, for spiders, of spiders."
My pronouns are she/her.
Web Weaver of Everlasting Narrative! (title bestowed by Drummer)
