I'm very new to D&D Beyond, and I want to make a campaign or just join one. Problem is, I literally know nobody. Do I just invite random people, hoping they're interested, do I create a thread for DMs who need players-or players who need a DM- or is there some other option? Should I just give up completely?
If your looking for a local game with your friends you do the following
1) create a campaign if your gonna be the DM
2) in said created campaign you can copy the invite link and email your friends a copy for them to follow (They need a DDB account or twitch account or such for logging in at DDB)
3) your players after following said link will be asked if they want to create a character for the campaign or select a character they already have made.
That should get you started all accounts will have access to the free rules provided by Wizards of the Coast (Basic Rules/Elemental Evil Players Companion/SRD) and the ability to manage 6 characters. That is the Free Stuff
The pay stuff includes the PHB, SCAG, Xanathers and all those other books. If someone has those books unlocked here and someone else has a master subscription they can unlock sharing in the campaign.
If your looking for people in your area check and see if you have a game store. We have a locally owned games shoppe in my city and they have open dnd nights. They also have a as bulletin board (made out of cork and uses push pins) with people looking. I went down there in August and ended up with a campaign
How do I actually join it? I've created it but I don't know how to get into it.
If you created a campaign you find it under Collections > My Campaigns (https://www.dndbeyond.com/my-campaigns). Then again, I assume that's where you created it. Not sure what you're asking. :p
The campaign is not actually a game. It’s an organizing tool for whatever module or homebrew adventure the DM runs for the players. If you want to join a game, you have to ask a DM that’s running one if you can join. If you’re accepted, you’ll then get invited to their campaign. Is that what the confusion is about?

Want to start playing but don't have anyone to play with? You can try these options: [link].
I know how to find it I don't know how to enter a game? thanks
This is not a video game or anything. This is more like a board game. There is no “game to join,” it’s all done with words and math.
If you created the campaign then there is nothing to join, you need other people to join it so that you can tell them a story and they can tell you what their characters do and everyone can use math to figure out what worked and what didn’t.
If you wish to join someone else’s campaign then you need to be invited by the person who started it. Then, they will tell you and the other players a story, you and the others will take turns telling that person what your characters do and then everyone can use math to figure out what worked and what didn’t.
I know, that sounds way less interesting than you might believe considering how many people play this game of words and math. But trust me, it’s a blast. It’s like playing make believe when you were a kid, only with rules so there’s no arguing about who shot first.

There is a "looking for players & groups" forum for people looking for players or a group.

What have you created that you don't know how to enter? You will need to give us a little more so we know what you are asking.
WOTC lies. We know that WOTC lies. WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. We know that WOTC knows that we know that WOTC lies. And still they lie.
Because of the above (a paraphrase from Orwell) I no longer post to the forums -- PM me if you need help or anything.
ok! thanks
