On your turn, when you score a critical hit with a melee weapon or reduce a creature to 0 hit points with one, you can make one melee weapon attack as a bonus action.
Rules for the campaign i'm in indicate that if you crit the damage is doubled for the attack. Does that mean you damage is doubled AND you get to attack again as a bonus action?

Correct.
Though, damage isn't doubled per se. You roll twice as much damage dice (damage mods don't get doubled).
Is there a way to attack with the -5/+10 in the character sheet or do we just do the math ourselves?
The only way I found was to add another greatsword to your inventory and the from the character sheet click on it and then Customize. You can change the to hit bonus to -5 and damage bonus to 10, name it Greatsword GWM and I think you can override the weight to zero. Make sure “display as attack “ is checked and it will now show appropriately. Then use that when you want to use GWM
i figured it out..........somehome the feat was already on my character sheet so i deleted the one from the CS and was able to enter it as i was in the character building prompts. Might have had something to do with the fact that im the DM editing my players characters for them.

Why does the description of great weapon master say "action: bonus action"
GWM grants a bonus action attack on a crit
Find my D&D Beyond articles here
Thanks that's what I thought as well just wanted to verify

It is? Can you explain the issue a bit?
