As the title says idk if i should re buy all my physical books on dnd beyond and take advantage of the current sale or wait until we have more info on WOTC wants with the future of Dnd Beyond https://speedtest.vet/https://showbox.tools/, yes ik that they have no plans of shutting Dnd Beyond down it's just the whole reason i am re buying my books is to use with a VTT like Foundry.
If you're waiting, it's going to be a while to find their true intent, if it is indeed different from what they've already reported. The official acquisition is still a little ways away. Then comes a whole bunch of behind the scenes stuff related to business. Then comes revamped roadmaps, shuffling of teams, options for new meeting donuts, rebranded company T-shirts, etc.
Beyond what's been reported, that WoTC plans to allow DNDB to keep on keepin' on; it may be many months or even a couple of years before we know anything else for sure.
If you think they might start offering free digital copies...it's possible but unlikely.
Another possibility is that they'll get rid of the idea of sales.
It's upto you. It's your gamble to make. Personally, it's encouraged me to buy, because it's become even more likely that DDB will remain relevant through 6e and beyond. Itnwas always the most likely scenario, but now it's practically assured.

Take the sale, DDB ain’t going anywhere. Plus, 20% off (of DDB’s already low prices) is the deepest discount they have ever run that I know of, and WotC is a money grubbing company, so this might be the last time we see a discount this deep.

20% off pre-orders too. They havent done that in a year.

I believe they allowed a pre-order sale on a book a few months back because Beyond was not able to implement some Subscriber benefits or something on time.
But yeah, if they did not mess up, then the last sale on pre-orders would be like around summer last year.
If finances are an issue, then I recommend just purchase only the pre-orders now to get the extra perks, and then wait until around Thanksgiving to purchase the Legendary Bundle, so you will have enough time to save up and that is when they traditionally offer steep discounts too. When I bought the Legendary Bundle a few years ago around Thanksgiving, I bought it at 25% discount, so it might be worth waiting.
I suspect that the best we can hope for is a way to order the physical book directly from Wizards and receive the DnDBeyond version for a small increase.
The retail price of the books is usually $50, so if we buy directly from Wizards, we'll probably be able to pay $60 to get access to both (tho the actual price will probably be closer to $65 or $70).
Wizards just isn't going to include a coupon for $50. Maybe for the compendium, but not for everything else.

You can currently buy the books from Amazon for $30+t and get the digital version here for $30+t. You can currently get both versions for $60+t now without a code.

The earliest you'll see a change in pricing is 2024 when "the next evolution" (aka WOTC PROJEKT D&D 2024 GOLD) comes out, but that 'deal:' will be an entirely new line of products. It is very improbably WotC is going to open the flood gates to DDB content with the acquisition because at minimum that's a massive slight to the many many people who have bought DDB material and the books separately and didn't spend the bulk of their post count incessantly protesting "why can't I just get both for the the price of one!"
I don't think this is going to be the "last sale" for DDB either, but that's just a hunch and I'm not going to speciously assign probability to it.
Notes: Please keep posts on-topic and debating to PMs.
They released an official statement that they are not scrapping DDB any time soon. I don't think they safely could even if they needed too, practically speaking, most of what you can get from the system is just text, if they shutter a platform without forward compatibility to a new service, players would just stop buying their content and pirate the books they already paid for, or didn't. It's actually more likely that they will stray away from books and focus on turning their future projects totally digital. Manufacturing and distributing books is a lot more money.
I'd be more concerned about whether future books, especially box sets, have digital codes in them, If your getting Dragon of Icespire Peak, I would buy the physical box, since it comes with a code to unlock the content on DDB. If you getting the Bundles, I'd still buy that first and put the code in so your not paying for Icespire Peak you can collect with the physical copy, Unless you have no use for the box set. Essentials Kit comes with some cheap options, best of all some sidekick material and item quest cards to pass around the table.
The only thing I have to add to this is that if you don't have the digital version of VGM and MToF get them now, in case the rumors of WotC's smoothbrain decision to cease their sale when MMM (🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮) comes out bares to be true.
