No; if you have already purchased VGtM here, you will still have access to it. What is changing is that as of May 17, it will no longer be possible to purchase VGtM here. But previous purchasers will retain their access. See this FAQ thread.
I appreciate the clarification. I figured, I did not think it would be legal to remove paid content. :)
I think it would be. You buy a licence to access content, not buy the content itself. If course, it would be monumentally stupid if they tried, DDB works on trust and that would massively undermine that trust, but they can withdraw content. They'd be in serious trouble if they ever became unprofitable and had to close the server otherwise.

WOTC's gameplan is that anyone new to the game never sees the real canon of the game, by not allowing those players access to the original material. Further, they are banking on DM's to fall prey to the new shinies and "new is always better". Combine that with various power-gamers and new players as mentioned earlier, WOTC expects the combined pressure of those two groups will force most DM's to abandon the true canon for the material in the new books.
That plan will probably work for the majority of tables.
LOL! Since they OWN Dungeons and Dragons, they get to decided what is and isn't the "real canon of the game". You get to decide the canon at your table, but WotC has every right to decide what they publish.
A reminder to everyone to stay on topic. The topic of this thread is about losing access to Volo's Guide to Monsters once the book is delisted from the marketplace (anyone joining the thread now, no, you will not loose access. You will just not be able to purchase the book). This thread is not about WotCs change in designs for monsters or playable races, nor is it for arguments about alignment.
Just to provide a bit more information to the OP, all items from these books are going to have a new “Legacy” tab on them, indicating they are not the current iteration of the time. It looks like the “Legacy” tab is already up and running, and you can see it next to the name of any monster from these books if you go to that monster’s specific page.
I'm hearing that with the release of the new book we will lose access to Volo's Guide to Monsters. If this rumor true?
