I am still very new to playing DND (started very first campaign January of this year). I own Lost Mines of Phandelver here on DDB and mostly for my own entertainment and learning experience, I'm going to TRY running it as DM with my family - only one of which has played before. I am just now starting to create the campaign using DDB. My question ...when trying to add characters to the campaign, it appears I CAN NOT simply add/import "my characters" that I've created on here. I know I can send invites to the others but they don't have accounts and I'd rather not have them go through every step. It appears, and I stress appears, I would have to create characters through the campaign building process. It wouldn't be a huge deal but I have about a dozen characters built that I could drop in and simply have them choose their character (all of them have said they would be OK with that).
So ...that's my long way of asking: when using DDB to run a campaign, I can't just use/import "my characters" into it? Hope I've explained that well, and don't sound like too much of a moron if I'm missing something.
No unfortunately you cannot import characters directly however there is the unassigned premade characters which should be simple enough to pick up and play if they are ok with that. They would just need to join the campaign and claim the unassigned character.

What? Of course you can import characters you've created into a campaign you've also created. There's no button to click on from the campaign page, no, but there is a link. Copy the link and open it in another tab. That link will give you the option to create a character, create a premade character, pick an unassigned character already in the campaign, or choose one of your already created characters.
Granted, you cannot select a character that is already in another campaign. That is the only limitation I am aware of for this entire process. But if you have created some random character that is currently not in another campaign, you totally can click on that character and bring it into the campaign from the invitation page.

That's pretty much what I thought, but wasn't sure if I was missing something. Thanks Alehonbro

I'll try that. Thanks much
That makes much more sense I think we always have our characters in another campaign that's probably why I never got it to work.
