Something must not be working then. I'm currently trying to buy a few subclasses from Xanathar's and I can't see how to purchase only those subclasses anywhere.
No sorry, I didn't see they'd changed it. You can't do it any more.
Shame, I was going to go digital...now I'm reconsidering.

Ah, crap. Yeah I don't know what to do now either. What I DO know is that there's no way I'm spending $ on full books. Might just have to use a different character creation method until they bring back individual purchase. Pretty gutted TBH... I've dropped a decent amount of $ on individual purchases in the past for sporadic theorycrafting.
For me, I've got several physical books where I was only interested in parts like the Monsters. Monsters of the Multiverse is a big issue for me now - I wanted the races, but I have no use for the various monsters. $15 was worth it for those (I hadn't bought it yet because I was waiting until I needed one), but $30 is a bit steep when I already have it physically. Same with Spelljammer.
I guess they don't want my money and I'll just have to homebrew them instead.

Oh woooow. I just looked at my bank statement and I've given them around $110 USD in total, mostly spent on individual purchases, with maybe 2 big items.
But now I'd have to drop $$$$ on a bunch of bunch of books if I want to keep using their services/app, just because I'm missing a few select things that I want for my next characters. There's no way I'm doing that.
Kind of feeling like that $110 went down the drain right now. BETRAYED. Surely they'll lose many customers here and ultimately lose more $ than they'll gain from this in the long run???

Well you should still have what you already have. Not being able to continue buying similarly does not change that.
Seems like a completely new marketplace interface entirely, without any announcement whatsoever... Very strange
Edit: There is no longer a discount off the complete product for what is already owned!!!!
I find it interesting that wotc gaver zero heads-up on this.
You must be new here (assuming your join date is accurate). Communication is not WotC's strong suit. I would have been only less surprised by an unannounced change if it happened to have been casually mentioned from a random employee on a personal social media post by accident because they just assumed it was already announced on some outlet that almost nobody ready or knows about.

This is a major change though. This is not trivial. It not being announced is indeed strange, even for WotC

So, the question is this. Prior to today, when the 6e source material came out, had you planned on buying the 6e PHB and/or the 6e DMG: 1.Not at all. 2: The entire book, or 3. Piecemeal parts of the PHB? Because if I understand this correctly, the option of picking and choosing parts of source books for char creation is now gone.

It seems like that, which is very annoying for me since I had bought a lot of the character options from Xanathar's Guide to Everything, but if I want the rest I have to pay full price for the book, even though I already own a part of it.....

How about the fact they no longer seem to have record of the details of any given order I have made before the 24th of this month? They have a record of the order numbers and amounts, but clicking the view link to see the details goes to an error page.

There are several potential options/reasons this happened. Give whatever weight to each option as you see fit.
1. wotc screwed up some kind of software tweak, and this was an unintended consequence. It would not be the first time.
2. wotc once again demonstrates its vaunted regard for the player base, and rolled this out. Someone has done the math and decided that profits were maximized by surprising people.
3. wotc has decided to float this as a trial balloon, and gauge feedback. I think there is some kind of rollout of source material occurring in the fall, and maybe wotc is trying to decide if they should use the business model of yesterday versus this new model.

I noticed the Legendary Bundle discount only showed up when I added a book to the cart. Can you confirm those prior purchase discounts are not accounted for in the cart?

The new store is very pretty, but is not art.
Also unsurprising as moving from one purchasing platform to another may not have kept some previous data or that data has not yet been loaded in since the switch. You're asking a lot from a company that has traditionally been terrible at any digital roll-out for anything.

Well I suppose they could have fired all the pre-existing DDB staff who did seem to have a good handle on this kind of thing and replaced them with people who are better at making 'pretty' than 'functional,' but that seems like a lot of extra work to make a worse product

As title says... Can we no longer purchase individual items from Marketplace? Only entire books?
I don't play enough to warrant buying full books but have happily spent $ on individual purchases many times in the past.
If this is the case, looks like it's back to pencil and paper for me :'( Or spreadsheets. Or something.
Am I missing something??
