if you buy a monster what do you get? when i created a campaign it doesn't really ask you to put monsters into it so what does buying monsters give you?
I am not sure what exactly you mean when you say "buying monsters". D&D Beyond sells adventures and sourcebooks that contain monster stat blocks that you may use in your campaign. D&Dbeyond.com only recognizes and works with digital copies of sourcebooks.
If you want to see the monsters that sourcebooks give you, you can access the sourcebook you purchased under the "Sources" tab.
If you navigate to the "Collections" tab and select the "My Encounters" page from the drop-down, you can create an encounter with the monsters contained in the books you have purchased. When you create an encounter, you can link said encounter with a campaign that you have so the encounter calculator can tell you how deadly your encounter will be based on the number and level the PCs are in your campaign.
If you have purchased a physical copy, you are out of luck with regards to using the encounter builder.
Some sourcebooks allow you to use fantastical races to create PC stat blocks when you select "create unassigned character" in one of your campaigns (see Mordenkainen Presents: Monsters of the Multiverse).
If none of this seems to work, you can always use homebrew options to manually input whatever monsters you want.
When you purchase creatures from a sourcebook, you get access to the stat block here on DNDBeyond.
You can use them in your campaign by creating encounters with the encounter creator tool! You'll be able to track their HP, roll digital dice, and track their initiative along with the characters in the party.
Taking this one step further: does anyone know if it is a requirement to have the Master Tier subscription to integrate these monsters into your encounters to be played online with those who don't own the sourcebook? Ex: I am a DM looking to incorporate monsters from the "Monster Manual" into my campaign encounters and am OK with a 1-time purchase of $30.00 ($15.00 with the current sale) but not so much a recurring subscription since my PC's don't own the book themselves.

No. The players’ characters only actually interact with those monsters in the imaginations of you and your players. The players themselves likewise never actually interact with those monsters. Therefore there is no need to share those monsters with your players.
