Hi I have created a home brewed item. And it’s been published. But a friend can’t see it they have the option tick to see home brew on the character sheet . Help please. We are not on the same campaign I’m hoping that doesn’t matter.
Have your friend edit their PC and look at the first page of the character builder. There should be an option to allow home-brew. Maybe it's currently set to off.
To share a homebrew item with someone you don't have to publish it, or have a subscription. Homebrew in users' collections is automatically shared inside a campaign, so you can create one for free, then the other person can join, and add the item within their character sheet.

Not only that, but if that other person has a subscription, you can send them the URL and they can add it to their collection even if it isn’t published.

thanks in advance.
If you published it, your friend would need to add it to their homebrew collection if they're not in the same campaign as you.
As the person above me said, you’ll need them to add it to their collection. Note they will need to have a D&D beyond subscription to do this.
