Is there a way to create a homebrew spell that will temporarily increase an ability (str/dex/etc.) that is reflected in the DDB character sheet, and then remove that increase some time later? I have been unable to get something like that to work, and it is starting to bug me.
The character sheet can't handle temporary effects of any kind, because it's just not that smart -- it doesn't know how long it takes in-game time to pass. The best you can do is make a magic item that you equip and unequip when the effect begins/ends.

That's what I was afraid the answer would be.
Ahem
It's not that hard to do. Just remember nothing is automatic
